Casita in Paradise - is exactly where you will be when you stay at June and Art's place. We were invited to Tulum for a wedding and we wanted to be off the beaten track away from the main tourist beaches with privacy. The location of the casita is just what we needed. 2 miles down a dirt road with a view of beautiful little cove and calm waters. The beach is literally steps away from the front door. From the bed you can look out to the sea. Our days stated with breakfast on the beach - followed by a morning swim. There is a reef in front of the casita so you can swim out to see tons of fish - bring water shoes. The casita offers a full kitchen so we bought groceries at a local store. You need a rental car -to stay at this place - and you can easily rent a car at cancun airport. From the casita you have a 5 min walk to (2) Restaurants right on the beach. Casa Cenote is the one we enjoyed the most - order the ceviche and margaritas. The town of Tulum is a 10 min drive and we enjoyed affordable restaurants. Art recommended lots of great places and checked in to see how we were doing and if we had any questions about anything - but also was polite in giving us privacy. I didn't expect housekeeping service at the casita and having the bed made and the room cleaned up a bit was a nice treat! We also enjoyed coconuts taken out of the tree by Abraham who landscapes the property - their hired staff are amazing and friendly. All in all the casita is an affordable option to the very expensive "eco tourist places" on the main beach road. I can't wait to come back! Thanks Art and June for being so welcoming.
I don't know what to say... It was just perfect. Casita is third building from the see, but anyway you have sea view laying on the bed :)
Fully equipped kitchen. Privacy, beach with hammock on coconut palms. Just fantastic.
Need to have car.
We absolutely loved June and Art's place! Away from it all, we were able to relax and swim the ocean, swing in the hammock, lay out on the beach.
Our casita had it's own kitchen and bath, so we could cook food if we wanted, but there were also a couple of restaurants to go to within walking distance and a Cenote to do some snorkeling or diving. The bay/cove that their property sits in is just majestic.
Our mornings consisted of having coffee/pastries that June provided and reading while listening to the ocean behind us. Then afternoons in the sand and surf and evenings watching the sunset with some good food.
If you rent a car, this might be best thing to do, as it is a bit away from other restaurants/bars, etc - but for us, we didn't care.
Out of all the places we stayed while we were in Mexico, I missed this place the most when we left (the only reason we didn't stay here the entire time was that it was booked!) Thank you Art and June for a wonderful relaxing stay and sharing your property with us. We'll be back for sure!
We enjoyed our stay here very much. June and Art were lovely hosts, and made sure that all our needs were taken care of. Additionally, they were very accommodating when some confusion in the scheduling forced us to shuffle rooms around a bit (they rent two cabanas in addition to the casita). Highly recommended!
