Champagne tastes on a beer wage? my apartment more than suits. All the mod cons and excellent location without the Hilton Prices. Pretty much everything's provided. This is a real apartment, not a studio. room to swing a few cats.
The living room. lie on the sofa and watch the world go by or watch movies on the big TV.
well furnished, Fully contained kitchen (great coffee machine which grinds the beans so you get fresh espresso...dishwasher etc) very cosy place with lots of light if you want it! Next to the 79 tram which can take you all the way down to St Kilda, or shop til you drop along Chapel St South Yarra, or walk 4 minutes to the railway station. Walk around Richmond and be surrounded by the great bars, restaurants and shops. Get to the city by tram or train, super close to the 70 (Swan St) or 75 (Bridge Rd) trams, the MCG, Sports precinct etc.
You MUST eat at Fonda, the new mexican place on Swan St, or for deeper pockets, try Union Dining at 272 Swan St. both are just fantastic places. For some gift shopping, head to Lily and the Weasel on Swan St on the right hand side as you head towards the city.
Walk to the Yarra River and take in Melbourne's beautiful skyline (while it's still beautiful) and if you're energetic, walk to Federation Square and have a beer or gourmet sausage by the river.
You'll find the best breakfast 5 mins down church street at Pillar of Salt.
the apartment is fully self contained. I'm a laundry nut so there's always plenty of laundry liquid, dishwashing tablets, coffee beans, cooking stuff, shampoo etc etc, and I encourage guests to make themselves feel at home.
Interaction with Guests
you can contact me as frequently or infrequently as you'd like. I like to get to know guests but respect privacy.
Richmond isn't one of the most popular inner city suburbs for nothing. Fair enough you can walk to the MCG or the Tennis Centre or catch a tram, but you've got walks by the Yarra, Church Street, Swan St, Bridge Rd shops and restaurants, not to mention Victoria Street for cheap eats.
There's a tram stop outside my apartment which takes you to St Kilda in one direction and Victoria St in another direction. Or walk to Swan St for the 70 tram, or Bridge Rd for the 75 or 48. i'm five mins walk to East Richmond Train Station, 10 mins walk to Richmond Station. Soooo central. there's an air balloon company nearby too but maybe that's too much.
Other Things to Note
there's plenty of shelf space for your clothes, mine are there as well but don't mind them. There's a walk in robe for your suitcases etc too.
if you're here, i won't be, but I do live here normally when it's not being used by wonderful travellers, so keep it clean! smoke on the balcony if you like (my friends do). I speak English and Spanish, I can show you some of the Melbourne highlights as well. I work close by so i'm not far if needed. The price is very good, the location is something people love, it's just a nice cosy place that's close to everything. Feel free to polish the silverware while you're watching TV. I just bought a new 55" Sony Bravia smart TV. If you have a tablet or laptop, it can connect via my HDMI cable.
My wife, daughter and I enjoyed our stay at Daniel's apartment. He hospitably covered many small but significant details like providing us with a travel adaptor, breakfast items like cereal, bread, milk and water, public transport fare cards (myki), towels etc. The kitchen is well-equipped, which was perfect for us to prepare meals for our 15month old daughter. Daniel was flexible in allowing us to check-in and out at our convenient times on the stated days, which really helped us to maximize our time in Melbourne.
Daniel ' s apartment was just perfect. It was in a great location with really easy access to public transport but there was also a great vibe locally if you just want to meander with a pit stop for coffee or a cold beer. Apartment itself was a real home from home with the added attention to detail of toiletries and a little food hamper. Daniel was very approachable and responsive. When temperature suddenly increased by 10 degrees he was straight round to set up mobile aircon, which was more than adequate.
We had a fantastic stay in Richmond at Daniel's apartment. The apartment is perfect for a couple; a good size with everything you could need including a stocked coffee machine and some thing in the fridge. Daniel was great to deal with and check in was very easy. If you want an apartment to see the great city of Melbourne this is the place.
Great apartment, great host, amazing location! Thank you Dan for making us feel so welcome in your lovely home. See you again
Perfect location, perfect host. Had a brilliant weekend at Dan's place for the Tennis. So easy to get everywhere and so many nice bars and restaurants to visit too!
Dan was the perfect host, welcoming, accommodating, contactable and always willing to give local recommendations. Try the Pillar of Salt on Church Street - Tremendous place for breakfast.
Finding Daniel's place and meeting up were no problems. The area is very convenient to Melbourne park for the tennis and to get to the city and has a nice quirky feel to it. The unit was clean and comfortable, though a little warm at night. The portable air conditioner was great but too noisy to have on in the wee hours. Daniel had thoughtfully provided some provisions. There is plenty to choose from in the local neighborhood for meal venues (lunch dinner and breakfast ). We had a magnificent meal at a greek restaurant. And his tips re transport options were very helpful. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Daniel is an amazing host. Didn't get to meet, sadly, but he made sure everything was awesome from the moment go, was always available to deal with any queries, suggested great things to see and do in Melbs, and was even very accommodating with the check in/out times, which was a massive help. His apartment is lovely and in an excellent location, it was very easy to get around. All in all a great experience. Definitely reccomend!
