About This Listing
This little gem is in the heart of Prospect Heights, where you the get best of city living while feeling as though you're living in a small town. Fantastic subway access: we're one block from the B & Q subway line (at Seventh Ave stop) which will take you to Union Square, Manhattan in 15 minutes, and 2 blocks from the 2 & 3 lines (Grand Army Plaza). We are at the gateway to Prospect Park with over 500 acres of wild beauty (and a carousel) where you can jog, sunbathe, birdwatch or people watch. We're a short walk from the phenomenal Brooklyn Museum (check out First Saturday) or Brooklyn Botanic Garden, a weekly Farmer's Market, and outstanding flea market! Walking distance also to Brooklyn Academy of Music, or Park Slope and Barclay’s Arena.
We are directly across the street from a well-stocked supermarket, and excellent bakery/café, so if you prefer not to brew your own, you can roll right out of bed for a fresh croissant and coffee! Right on the block we have another great breakfast and lunch spot, a bagel bakery, several bars and restaurants - among them, one of the best artisanal pizza spots in Brooklyn (Amorina). After dinner you can stop in to browse our top-notch (new and used)bookshop - open 7 days till 11 p.m., just one block away, then (after a wait) get salted caramel or gooey gooey ice cream from Ample Hills, where ice cream is made fresh, on the premises!
In other word, everything a person might need!
No pets or smokers.
The apartment was exactly as described on the site. Albano was a very nice guest, providing us a lot of advice and reacting immediately to our questions.
The place is very nice, comfortable and welcoming. The area is also nice, full of stores, restaurants and cafés.
We enjoyed our stay very much, except for the cold that prevented us from visiting as much as we wanted the surroundings.
The reservation was canceled 81 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
This apartment is on a great street in Prospect Heights. Albano and his son were responsive and friendly. There are cute restaurants everywhere and a farmers market on Saturdays. It was really cold when we were there and the shower didn't have any hot water.
This apartment proved to be very comfortable and was a perfect location for my visit. It is across the street from a terrific Italian restaurant, grocery store and marvelous bakery. Picking up the keys was easy, the host responded immediately to a request I had during my stay and all in all, I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone who is looking for a place that is spacious and well located to transportation and shopping.
Albano was out of town, but Ellen was very welcoming and dropped off the New York Times. The apartment was as described and clean.
We found everything to be clean, comfortable and convenient to NYC and Prospect Heights. Just what we wanted.
We walked at night from the subway and always felt safe.

About the Host, Albano
I grew up in Porto Recanati, on the Adriatic Coast of Italy. After coming to New York and working as a commercial photographer for many years, I opened Aliseo Osteria in 2003 and in 2005 I opened Amorina Cucina Rustica. Aliseo and Amorina are considered 2 of the mainstay of Brooklyn, creating handcrafted foods, in the spirit of "farm to table" philosophy. On February 7th, 2014 I opened a new restaurant with live music called The Classon Social Club, located just 2 blocks from the Brooklyn Museum.
