Escape to total privacy on 100 wooded acres very near DuPont State Forest A 5-star Guest Favorite and one of Airbnb’s top 1% homes. Designed for couples seeking quiet, nature, and uninterrupted time together.

The space
This little cabin started out as a "bath house" that used to house the shower facilities for a campground that hosted horseback riders, mountain bikers, and hikers that frequented Dupont State Forest. After we bought the property and built our home which is also on the property, we started planning turning the "bath house" into a cabin where we could host friends, family, and anyone who was interested in visiting this wonderful area.

Guest access
The cabin is located on the property which we also reside, and is accessed via a gravel driveway which passes our house and takes you through the woods to the cabin. The driveway passes our neighbors' barn, so please drive slowly (5MPH). The entire house is yours for the duration of your stay.

Other things to note
Only two guests with one vehicle are allowed on the property at all times (absolutely no additional individuals, vehicles, deliveries or pets allowed for any period of time). Since we live just through the woods, we are always accessible to answer any questions and show you around the property. Guests must drive safely and slowly (5MPH) when on the property.

My wife and I moved to the Brevard/Hendersonville area in 2012 and purchased a beautiful plot of land next to DuPont State Recreational Forest in 2013. Soon after purchasing our property we built our current home and four years later we starting building a guest cabin. Prior to becoming the house you see today, it began it's existence as the "bath house" which was where the shower facilities where located when the property was formerly a campground for horseback and mountain bike riders. Danielle and I spent most of 2018 tearing down the "bath house" and rebuilding it as the rental cabin for friends, family, and anyone looking to enjoy all that this area has to offer. Most of the interior and exterior wood trim was milled from trees taken down here on the property, including tulip poplar, white pine, white and red oak and even a little black locust. The countertops, bathroom vanity, shelves, and coffee table are tulip poplar while the staircase, railing, ship lap ceiling above covered area, and assorted tables are white pine all from trees just outside the cabin. The hardwood floor in the loft was the board and batten siding on the exterior of the original "bath house." We carefully removed the previous white pine siding board by board, de-nailed it, ripped it to width then planed it to thickness and installed it as flooring. It was an exciting project for us as we are not carpenters by training, but we had a lot of great folks from this area help us along the way. We hope that guests will find the cabin relaxing and comfortable, and welcome any feed back that would make your stay even more enjoyable!
