Embedded in a balinese village, SANUBARI offers you the opportunity to be part of traditional balinese life on one side, while following your own intentions on the other. Do all the things you're planning to do and don't miss to experience a centuries old culture which still does exist.
Slow down, relax and enjoy the things to do. There's many to choose from:
go diving, snorkeling, rafting, fishing...
join our balinese cooking class
go on tour and see sacred temples, amazing waterfalls, beautiful rice terraces and
astonishing landscapes
go tracking or do climb a volcano
and many more...
We have the experience and know-how to either show you around or - if you like to stay individual and go on your own - just tell you where to find the places worth visiting and anything else.
We're looking forward to welcome you!

  • I has a great stay at the Sanubari guest house and enjoyed chatting with Sil and Ketut. The food they served was phenomenal (I'm still dreaming about the BBQ chicken and fish cooked over coconut shells). Sil picked me up from my hotel in Ubud and Ketut took me on a scooter excursion to go snorkeling and visit temples; this was great and a useful service they offered since I didn't want to drive. The open air living area was peaceful and lovely and I spent many hours just relaxing on the lounging mats. The farm-like experience was unique and was fun to see a group of piglets when I arrived. I highly recommend this place to stay!

  • We liked the Silvana and Ketut! It was the most spiritual place of all, where we stayed in Bali. Nowhere else we could not get such a personal relationship, care and attention: it is as if you are staying with friends. We were shown a very interesting places and provides many useful tips!
The house is large, beautiful, Bali.. tastefully decorated. Liked to shower in the air! In the house of Silvana and Ketut easy to feel the unity with nature is nature very much! (hens, chickens, cows, pigs, funny lizards, etc.). This is a very interesting and fresh experience after living in the "stone jungle". In General, all stay in this completely non-touristic village (local way of life, the ceremony of cremation, which we were lucky enough to see, etc) - a very extraordinary experience!
Ketut magically cooking, it's true! And Silvana is very good, honest and interesting people, from whom we knew so many interesting things and not only about Bali.
In short, our impressions of Sanubari Guesthouse is something very special! And we are very grateful Silvana and Ketut!

  • A lot of thanks for Silvana and Ketut! It was really non touristically and very naturely! If you want to get expirience of living in village far away from people you must have this))) Silvana and Ketut was very very helpful and interesting to be with them! Thanks a lot))))

  • Very peaceful location in rural Bali - quite a different experience from the touristy hot-spots. The house is very large and comfy, and it's a short walk to the beach (though there are some steep hills involved). The bath is large and open-air, so it's definitely indoor/outdoor living. There are some large steps to negotiate in the bath, which might be an impediment if you're mobility impaired. The WiFi works very well. Sil and Ketut are great hosts, and prepare great food. The day trips are highly recommended, as are conversations with Sil. The Seraya area of Bali is quite spectacularly beautiful, so be sure to get out and explore. :)

  • Silvana and Ketut were great hosts! Their Guesthouse is the most special place in Bali I've ever seen! Sam their 6 years old son knows already to entertain a guest, thank you so much Sam! Silvana is a great artist! It was also so exciting our conversations together, I never will forget! Thanks a lot for it! And Ketut is a great cooker and a very nice guide! The tour to Pura Lempuyang by motorbike was such a peaceful one, I was so happy at this day! Thank you Ketut that you make this possible to me! The service is also great and the food yummi-yummi! Try also the Jamu Drink, it's lovely! I would always recommend this place, it's really an adventure you never will forget!!!

  • Silvana and her husband were wonderful and very hospitable. Their treehouse-like guesthouse is a marvel. Love the wooden planks, open view surrounded by lush greenery and the thoughtful details that all add to a rustic hideaway...I'm really lucky to be able to stay there. It was a restorative experience, waking up to nature, living and breathing tranquility in an oasis of calm.

  • Silvana and Kutut were helpful and generous hosts that made it possible to get a REAL glimpse into Bali rural living. This is for people with an adventurous and inquisitive spirit that want to learn something about other cultures. We really enjoyed exploring the East side with scooter and car and also enjoyed Kutut's cooking very much. This place has wonderful potential and we hope to hook up with them in future.

  • This place is a hidden gem if you want to get away from it all. The bungalow is really big and breezy with beautiful views over the ocean and the outside bathroom is a true delight. Spend a few hours in the hammock or watch the sunrise from your bed. Silvana is a really nice and warm person and she knows a lot about Balinese culture and where to go. I loved talking with her, walking to the shore and spending a few hours swimming with her and her son in tirta gangga. The food Ketut prepares is delicious and it feels like you are in your own private restaurant! This place is truely something else and you will get a good insight in daily life, watching the pigs and cows passing your bungalow and enjoying a ceremony in the temple. Don't forget to check out the Sam's art!

  • Ketut and Silvana were fantastic hosts and their guest house is really wonderful place! The Sanubari guest house in Seraya is a great place to get away from the tourism and experience meeting locals and Bali country life. The place was nice and clean and the bathroom is an experience in itself. The views from the guest house are amazing and so are the nearby beaches (black sand beach, white sand beach and boulder beach). Ketut accompanied us to the Aga Villages nearby and Silvana showed us the Soap and Chocolate factory (where there is this great swing overlooking the sea - simple pleasure) on our way to Kuta. The place is remote but they can arrange for a moped (or vehicles) to get around. We also had the opportunity to dine with the guests at the nearby Frangipani Guesthouse over a suckling pig dinner prepared by one of the locals. A most wonderful experience! I highly recommend staying at Sanubari and hope to stay there again someday. Thank you Ketut and Silvana. Thanks Sam for the lovely drawing!! :)

We are Ketut and Silvana, a mixed couple ( balinese-german) and have a 6 years old son, who's called Sam. Ketut is an excellent cook, I'm an artist and both we are mind- and heartopened and love meeting people from all over the world. We live nearby the house, so if you like we can cook, arrange trips or give you tips where to go. Our guesthouse is an open place ( it has bamboo/fabric-blinds to close for privacy and protection from wind or rain) with an open bathroom. The bedroom is a real room with walls and a big sliding door which is possible to lock. You're gonna live on 60 square meters plus a huge bathroom. So the house has plenty of space and a very nice view.
