I had a very pleasant time in Colonel Homestead at Jaipur. Spacious air-conditioned room with ensuite bathroom made it desirable as the temp. was around 42c. during my visit. Colonel Sinha and his wife Vijaya Kumari were both very hospitable and kind, so I felt their support at any time, given this was my first time in Jaipur. They manage a very clean and organized operation with a number of young friendly staff members on hand. I wouldn't think of looking elsewhere the next time I'm in Jaipur. Thank you both very much for your hospitality.
The Colonel's Homestead is an oasis away from the City. Vijaya and the Colonel are such interesting and warm people. They are well educated and taught us about the Indian culture. We were also fortunate to meet their youngest daughter Pallavi who is so charming and ready to share her views on any subject. Our trip was rushed but had we known, we would have reserved more time to get to know each other better and hear all the wonderful stories. The rooms are nice and clean; the food is good and we would recommend this place to anyone. They both were most helpful with making suggestions and calling potential individuals to arrange an itinerary that would make our stay in Rajasthan a very good experience. We met as strangers and left as friends.
We arrived at the Colonel"s late at night and the staff got us settled in. As mentioned by others, the room was large and extremely comfortable. Our trip was rushed and we wished we could have spent more time here. Colonel Rajesh and his wife Vijay were so charming and welcoming we felt like members of the family. I know there were many more stories we would have enjoyed with more time! I would not hesitate to stay here again, it was a delight.
my stay was pleasant..I was happy as colonel accepted my request within 30 mins..
this place is clean, spacious and has a good old charm..colonel sinha is warm, the bed linen was clean and the servants were helpful..breakfast was good and there was no nagging for petty issues which I find the best..
the place is green and peaceful and is 100% value for money. I will want to stay here when I come next..
I definitely recommend this place.
We had a great stay in the Colonel Home Stay. It is a quite place with a lot of green. It is outside the city, about 20 minutes by auto-riksha from the center. Rooms are ok, breakfast too. Col Rajesh and his wife are great hosts. I would certainly recommend this place.
We had a very pleasant stay ! Mr. and Mrs. Sinha are warm, very helpful and happy to share valuable moments with their hosts, making them feel at home. The staff is very kind and respectful. The rooms (we have stayed in two on two separate occasions) are very spacious, comfortable, very quiet, well equipped (TV, WiFi, air conditioner, hot water, ...) and very clean. The surrounding neighborhood is absolutely safe and offers all basic services within walking distance. A ride to the Pink City costs Rs. 100-120 by auto rickshaw. We definitely recommend this option to any discerning person looking for a place to stay away from noisy crowds. Many thanks again for making our stay in Jaipur so satisfying ! We shall come again, promised.
OMG..what a horrible experience! On the very 1st cold night, the toilet was NOT running, no hot water in bathroom & we were given a hell out of excuses without fixing (..continued until the day we left).
The next day we got a better, cleaner room but with its own set of (un)common issues( :-) )
Guys, simply don't just carried away by pictures, this place has nothing real like that home stay. You are not allowed to see/enter kitchen, the limited set of breakfast would leave with no options, and if by mistake you ask for more than given in your plate, you would be announced as demanding....They would made you realize that we are merely the guests here.
The owners(so called hosts) are very cold & non-supportive & so is the under-privileged staff(2 young untrained teens) who turn to behave unfriendly & unethically on times. They are proud to provide the all time poor service. In fact we feel pity on them when they say,"We don't know, talk to masters", on every single damn thing we ask them.
Oh man ! I wouldn't suggest to waste your money and vacation here ! Ask for a visit before you book any home-stay place.
Rajeev you are a very bad guest and a very bad human being. You were all honey and sugar when you were here. Why did you extend your stay if things were bad ? It is quite apparent that you have written these lies after reading my review of you. Instead of crying like this, learn some basic decency. Don't dry wet clothes on furniture. Please be considerate to other guests. Teach your mother who accompanied you not to scream profanities at the staff. They are human beings and do us a great service by serving us----but I guess that is too much for you or your mother to understand. You are also ungrateful for our allowing you to stay much beyond check out time, for no charge. You won't get far with this attitude. Disgraceful indeed and cowardly too!
This homestay was great! Mrs. Sinha was a genuinely warm and friendly host. Both Mr. and Mrs. Sinha were so helpful in arranging transportation and providing recommendations. If I ever end up in Jaipur again, I will definitely stay here. (And breakfast was delicious :)
We had a great stay at Col Rajesh's house, I agree with other reviewers that it was one of the highlights of the trip. Both him and his wife are lovely people, we were lucky to spend a few hours one evening talking over drinks.
I had a fantastic time staying with Col Rajesh and his family. Their hospitality was wonderful - They were very kind, helped me around Jaipur and gave me recommendations for great places to visit. Their home is away from the craziness of the city, so it was nice to unwind and relax in a quiet area. I would highly recommend them and I hope all their visitors have as much fun as I did.
