Other Things to Note

This part of Ireland is an absolute paradise and very untouched and empty of modern infrastructure and you will have the feeling that you have the entire place to yourself - especially Beara peninsula - when the weather is dry - when the sun is shining is is even more glorious that that - but this is Ireland so ......sorry I cannot guarantee or control the weather.

  • Aine's Eco Lodge is a really lovely place to stay. Very bright and airy with lovely features and decorated in great taste, it sits surrounded by beautiful countryside. Aine was a great host - flexible, friendly and very accommodating and a very interesting lady herself. The breakfasts were lovely and the atmosphere was relaxed and informal. The bed was really comfortable and the ensuite "wetroom" was really spacious. I would definitely come back and would highly recommend this B&B.

About
See reviews/one hundred per cent satisfaction ratings. 2 Double Rooms B&B or longer stays in an ecological house made of hemp from Euros70x2. Home of professional writer for screen and stage with the usual cultural interests including music/traditional music and an interest in landscape, design, architecture, nature and green issues and rural development - I volunteer in creative development work with two local groups as secretary for local tidy towns and Kenmare bay project. The lodge is an ecologically built house made of hemp. The rooms offer privacy from each other. 2 en suite - one a wet room with rainshower + 1 double with large bath/shower room. Stylish and natural materials throughout with a lot of character yet unpretentious, peaceful country house. It is filled with light to the south, the breakfast area looks towards the wooded valley and mountains. It is geothermally heated - the only hemp house B&B stay in Ireland ( only other HEMP visitor stay I know of is a self catering in North Ir.). 3.05 MILES from Kenmare town, bay and beauty all around on a par with the lake district in england - see the official Kenmare website ((website hidden)) - plenty of great stuff for days exploration within 20 mile radius I promise. Born in the West Ireland, lived London, NY and Dublin. I have international diplomas in Nutrition, Reflexology & Massage and offer HOLISTIC TREATMENTS in-house. Independent traveller. Professional screenwriter and playwright. I work as an online screenwriting tutor (via Creative Writing Ink). Interests: nature's beauty/ the arts / having a quality lifestyle. Kenmare has quality in spades, I chose to live here for the stillness and beauty of the bay. Trees, mountains & the sheltering micro-climate of the long narrow bay set it as a place apart. Gateway to the most spectacularly unspoilt Beara and Iveragh peninsulas. Photos on (website hidden)/Kenmare Eco Lodge page - see the fabulous kitchen, large windows and views of the river valley. Photos of monthly mediterranean cooking demonstration nights show the kitchen at its most vibrant.
