The historic St. Joseph Church is a 5 bedroom adobe structure built in 1914 by the US Cavalry. Located in Redford, TX., on the banks of the Rio Grande, 5 min. from the entry to Big Bend Ranch State park, 1 hr. from Big Bend National Park.

If you are planning a trip to the Big Bend it is advisable to be prepared with proper dress for the weather., A wide-brimmed hat, comfortable clothing, and sturdy walking shoes or boots are necessary for anyone planning to get outdoors. Sunscreen is always a must and hikers must always carry plenty of water;one gallon per person per day is recommended. Summer visitors should be aware of heat safety; like wearing clothing that protects from the sun and avoiding activity midday.
