No he podido estar más cómoda en la casa de Alessia. Todo genial, la casa, la zona en la que se encuentra lleva de vida. Absolutamente recomendable! Y la atención por su parte y por la de su madre, de 10 :)
I have lived at Alessia's place for over a month now and everything has been fantastic. After the airline lost my bags, she willingly called them in Italian and organized the delivery for me. The apartment is totally equipped with everything you need, including a fully functional kitchen. As mentioned by another traveler, the shower is a bit small, but nothing unmanageable. Nearby, there are local coffee shops, supermarkets, restaurants, laundromats and all other ameneties. I even managed to find a fitness centre. The tram to Termini is about 20 minutes and picks up a block away. Overall, if you want to experience an up-an-coming hipster neighborhood outisde of the Roman centre, Pigneto is a perfect place to do it, and what better place to stay than at Alessia's Open Space?
I had a wonderful time at Alessia's Open Space in Pigneto. Both Alessia and her mother, who greeted me upon arrival, were so lovely throughout the five weeks I stayed, checking in periodically to ask if I needed anything, etc. The space itself is very cool, a recently redone storefront loft good for 1-2 people. It had everything I needed, including a very functional kitchen corner and a super comfortable bed. And I loved the location! It is incredibly easy to reach with public transportation but far removed from tourist Rome, and just a quick walk from Pigneto's main drag and numerous parks and community centers. I would really recommend staying in the Pigneto area to anyone looking to get a sense of everyday Roman life, especially of the more creative variety. One thing to note: the shower is pretty tiny. It works just fine but it might be tricky if you have limited mobility.
This is a small and cosy loft in Pigneto for a reasonable price. You can find a good bakery and a pizzeria just around the corner. It takes about 15 minutes to get to Termini by tram.
The host is very welcoming and hospitable :)
