Monica was very kindly. The appartment is very well located, a few minutes from the Pantheon and taxi station. It's very quiet and the balcony is pleasant. Just a little problem with the hot water of the shower, and I think Monica will resolved it soon.
Due to an apparent communication problem, a prearranged text advising of our departure time which was sent by me when we boarded our train from Florence to Rome was not received by our host, Monica. Consequently there was no one to meet with us on our arrival at the unit. A telephone call made to Monica who advised that she did not receive the message but that she would be there in an hour. A couple of outstanding pizzas from a very handy restaurant went a long way to placate our disappointment!
True to her word, Monica arrived an hour later and let us in to the apartment. After negotiating the more than seventy steps to the apartment of which Monica forewarned about, with our luggage, Monica explained fully and satisfactorily all the info we needed to know about the apartment.
The apartment was as described by Monica. The unit was spacious, quiet and well appointed with a beautiful outside rooftop area that would be fantastic in summer but less so in Winter when we were there.
The beds, a large kingsized bed in one bedroom and two singles in the other were comfortable. The bedroom with the two singles had an ensuite attached.
The location of the unit is well described with restaurants and the Pantheon only a short stroll. A Spar supermarket is located in a street which runs off to the right as you face the Pantheon square, it is well-stocked with wine and food.
The kitchen of the apartment seemed well appointed with a good gas cooktop, although Monica explained that one burner was not working, microwave and coffee machine. This is an area that we found fault with. There was no tea-towel supplied in the apartment. We ended up using a hand towel from one of the bathrooms. As we prepared a few meals in the apartment we noticed an absence of a few things in the kitchen, such as sharp knives (there was only 1 large bread (?) knife. The coffee machine had a stone under the urn part to compensate for a smaller urn which was obviously not the urn which came with the machine. The wine glasses supplied were lovely but huge and it would have been nice to have some champagne glasses! Another disappointing matter was the hot water or lack there-of. I raised the matter with Monica but she said that it was out of her control. This we accepted, but feel that in the colder months this could be an issue. The stairs are a challenge with heavy luggage. However we survived and Monica in her description of the apartment made it clear about the stairs.
Apart from these matters we had a great time in Rome and the apartment was warm and comfortable and extremely well-located.
Dear Peter, I tried getting in contact with you several times the day before your arrival, I had no answer. I always ask for the exact time of arrival as to avoid problems like in your case. I accept all the other suggestions and will do all I can to improve my apartment. Happy you enjoyed your stay, Monica.
Monica was extremely helpful and friendly. Her apartment is in a perfect location, just minutes from the Pantheon, restaurants and shops. The apartment itself is wonderful - plenty of light, space and is well stocked with everything you need, as well as good cooling, washing/drying and a lovely quiet garden balcony. We could not fault our stay and would highly recommend!
A lot of stairs here, (I counted 62!) but I guess that is all part of the authentic Roman experience. Monica met my friends early with the keys and seemed nice and professional. The apartment was clean and all six of us had plenty of towels and sheets for the four days we were there. The bedrooms were a good size, the bathrooms/showers a little on the small side but that was consistent with all of the places we stayed. Wifi and washer/dryer came in handy. The cute little patio garden was very nice and the apartment was in a good location for walking to various restaurants and all the sites. Water pressure and temperature were a little spotty but overall, would stay here again.
Monica was a very courteous host. I called her from the airport when we arrived and she was waiting for us at the door. She was very
helpful in all respects. The apartment description is accurate. Very modern and clean. Spacious and well furnished. The beds were
very comfortable. However, the showers had not consistent hot water and pressure regardless we followed Monica's directions.
The apartment is very quiet and the location is fantastic, we would recommend this apartment to friends and family. We couldn't ask for a better location. The apartment is in walking distance to all the major attractions and the grocery store and Pantheon are 2 minutes from the apartment. Overall, we are very pleased with Monica and the apartment.
Excellent location. Just around the corner from the Pantheon. Most of the major places in Rome can be walked. Taxis are easily available since there's a large taxi stand right on the corner of the pantheon.
Numerous restaurants, etc, Small supermarket very nearby.
Kitchen has essential items. But we did not really use it much except for some glasses and plates
Quiet, no street noise despite being so close to the tourist areas.
Easy communication with host via email with rapid response, did not need to call.
Quite a few stairs to get to the unit but we knew this from before.
Listing states two bathrooms, but on arrival instructions stated that two showers cannot be used together or else the water pressure falls and the hot water turns off. Even if following these instructions however hot water would be intermittent. Shower stalls are rather small.
