We do ask for people to have profiles with real pics and information about themselves (work, where you live, what you do for fun, etc). This being our home, we like to know a little bit about who is asking to stay, so that we are sure that it works.
Our house is a 3 floor, 3 bedroom, 2 bath row home in Philadelphia's red hot Fishtown neighborhood.

You will have access to:
2 bedrooms with a private bath between them on the second floor of a shared house. (not a private apt).
The large private bedroom has a queen sized bed and a full sized convertible couch/futon.
This room can sleep 4 sharing beds.
The small private bedroom has a full sized bed and can sleep 2.
The bathroom with a tub & shower is between the 2 rooms private to the second floor.
You have access to the full kitchen with fridge/stove/microwave/toaster, as well as a washer/dryer for laundry.
Wifi is also provided.
If you are a smoker, we have a small backyard which you can use.
We provide linens, soap, shampoo, towels, hair dryer & ironing board.
Street parking is available, on Frankford St. (Our tiny St is permit only but is 5 house away from the corner).
It is really easy to get here via subway/bus/trolley and if driving we are just blocks from the i95 expressway.
If you're coming via public transportation and you're the type to get lost, we can meet you at the station, or give you detailed personal directions.
Interaction with Guests
Depends on how busy we are, and if we are working from home.
We work both have odd work hours as we have different practices, including teaching at universities, which means our off site schedule is constantly changing. Sometimes we are here all day but a lot of times we have to work at school in the evening or mornings. We can certainly have brief conversations, with our guests, and we can definitely make recommendations for places to go, things to see, or best transportation methods.
Generally if we are at home working in the living areas, we ask that people be considerate of our time.
We live on a quiet and safe residential block, in Fishtown one of the artsiest & active neighborhoods in Philadelphia, and with great nightlife and food options.
We are walking distance from many Philly hotspots: go dancing at the Barbary or 700club, drink beer out of giant liter steins at the Stephen Starr Frankford Hall, or Bourbon & BBQ at Fette Sau; have a terrific microbrew at Kraftwork, catch shows at Johnny Brenda's, go to an art opening at one of the many neighborhood galleries, or an Italian feast at BYOB ModoMio, & across the st at its lowrent but excellent sandwich shop Paesanos.
Fancy dinners can have an exquisite farm to table meal at Kensington Quarters; French meal at the Pickled Heron, or a walking bit further into old Kensington to the new 'it' american cuisine BYOB, Helm -be sure to make a reservation long in advance. Try the all included tip less, Girard Brasserie; and of course foodies can line up before the 5pm opening of the amazing Pizza Beddia to place an order for their 9pm pickup.
Many new fun eateries have recently opened in the 3/5 block area including the not Mexican but excellent Heffe Tacos from the Paesano/Modomio restaurateurs; The more mexican but still not so much "Loco Pez"; "The Good spoon" for luscious soups; and the MANY Coffee shops right around the corner, including the US headquarters of La Colombe Roasters & Distillers (it's GIANT).
On our block you will find "Steep and Grind" and Griffin coffee; down the st, RocketCat; Milk Crate; Front st Cafe; so many more.
For the night life explorers, We have a large number of bars, show venues and gastropubs, many with great early and late happy hours.
Fishtown tavern, Bottle Bar, Barcade, Lloyds, Interstate Drafthouse, Kungfu Necktie, The Yatchman, the L Bar, The Lost bar Atlantis, and many others. not including the plethora in our proximate neighborhood, The Northern Liberties. (5min Uber, 10min walk)
The Sugarhouse Casino is walking distance from our house, straight down Frankford ave.

For people who like random activities, we have grungy batting cage/punk rock show venue "Everybody Hits"; as well as grungy indoor mini golf & Arcade "Keystone Mini Golf", a 50s style bowling alley "2nd st Bowl". The "Go Vertical" Climbing gym is close next to the casion, as well as "Firth & Wilson Transport Cycles" - where you can rent bikes by the day; Get an amazing transforming massage from therapist Kate at "Selcouth" (therapeutic massage for long lasting results -schedule in advance and mention Sebastien for a discount); We have a bunch of Yoga Studios in the 5 block area including AMRITA/IS YOGA Studio/Mother Heart Studio/Ploome.YARDS & PBC breweries offer tours on weekends and are in the neighborhood.
We are also very close to other great neighborhoods with more boutiques and shops like Northern Liberties and Old City, both just south of us.
Center City is just a short 10 min Subway or Uber ride away.
We are 5 blocks from the Market Frankford line (MFL), which will take you most anywhere you want to go in Philadelphia. (11mins to center city, 15 min to 30 st train station)
we are also 3 blocks from the Trolley, and numerous bus lines run right by the house.
We are 5 mins with a Cab/Uber from the Temple University Septa commuter train stop. (a 15min)
We are also right near i95, Delaware ave and the Ben Franklin Bridge.
Of course Uber, UberX and Taxi's will pick you up and drop you off here.
Other Things to Note
If you have severe cat allergies this is not the place for you.
The cat is not allowed in the bedrooms so anyone with minor allergies will do fine.
*No smoking in the house. (In front or back is totally fine.)
*No shoes in the house.
*The cat is not allowed in the bedrooms.
(But the rest of the house is fair game for snuggling)
*Feel free to look at/read our collection of books, but be nice to them please.
*Please don't put containers with liquids directly on wood surfaces in the house, we have coasters distributed about the house to protect any valuable furniture.
*Please refrain from spraying excess amounts of perfume/cologne, or using large amounts of perfumed products; as it makes it will negatively affect others in the house.
*Please be considerate of other guests when coming in and leaving in the morning/evening.
*Please be considerate of your conversation volume as sound travels throughout the house affecting others in the house.
*Do not invite people not staying in the house to hang out without first checking with us.
*Make sure to not open any cabinets/closets marked with yellow tape as private.
*Please be considerate of others when using kitchen/dinning area.
*Please be careful not to stain towels/sheets with makeup and or dirt.
