Interaction with Guests
I am a fashion designer working in the city- I have a pretty full schedule with work and other activities so I am often out and about, but if you want to chat or get some tips about the area, I will be happy to interact with you. If you are more on the private side, that is totally fine too - I want you to have a comfortable and enjoyable stay either way!
I have one roommate who is a fitness instructor- he is out most afternoons/ evenings teaching classes. He is also a busy person and most evenings he is out of the apartment until late.
I have two, super cute, short haired cats that live in the apartment. They are very calm and easy going, most of the time they are sleeping or hanging out in my room. They are super friendly, but if you are allergic to cats or just don't like them, then this is not the place for you!
Also, because we already have the cats, we cannot accept pet house guests (even though we love them!)
Williamsburg is *the* area to stay in when visiting the New York City area. There are so many amazing restaurants, bars, stores, galleries, public spaces - not to mention the waterfront with amazing views of the city. There is so much going on here and so many new things opening up that it is hard to keep track - but you will never be bored!
This is a thriving neighborhood featuring a large selection of local restaurants, delis, convenience store, supermarkets, laundromats, and more. Area benefits include:
•2 blocks from Grand St (L) train
•4 blocks from Graham St (L) train
•Local bus stop (in front of building)
•Ample parking spots (metered)
•Local Corner Bank (Chase)
Other Things to Note
In an effort to show respect for the building, its tenants and its owners, please keep noise and interactions with others to a minimum (e.g. in the hallways, stairs, outside the apartment, etc).
You are welcome to use the roof, but please respect that space also- don't leave anything up there, and if you smoke, please only put cigarettes out in the sand buckets provided.
Needless to say, once inside the apartment, you have much more free range to be yourself & relax at your own leisure :)
Make yourself comfortable but please respect the space and my property- this home has been lovingly put together over the years and a lot of the things here have sentimental value - so please be mindful.
If you are cooking, please make sure to wash up dishes after you use them so they are not sitting in the sink.
Please turn lights/ the TV etc… off when you leave. You know, all the basic/ good stuff that you do at home…
Please don't bring other guests here or have anyone else stay over other than approved, and pre-paid guests.
Other than that, have fun, relax and enjoy! :)
Very nice stay (two weeks) in Marta's loft :) The apartment is nicely decorated by Marta, talentuous artist and designer. Room is wide enough, with a real bed and a dresser to store clothes, I appreciated. A bit warm sometimes, perhaps, due to hot weather in NYC at this end of june. But it's OK !. A big fan freshes air, silently. Marta's loft is located in middle part of Brooklyn, close to line L, bringing you to Bedford in three steps (heart of Williamsburg) or Manhattan /Union Square, as well. That's great ! I appreciated much the availability of Marta before arriving, giving me all indications to access the apartment. Thank you for this hosting, Marta !
Had a great time staying at Marta's beautiful loft this weekend! The apartment is spacious and well decorated, close to the subway and has amazing views of the city from the roof. Marta gave me some great tips on where to go in the neighborhood for coffee and dinner. Would def stay here again, thanks Marta!
Marta was an amazing hostess! Very kind and helpful to someone new to the city, like me. The space was beautiful and well taken care of. The pictures give it no justice. By all means, I guarantee a delightful experience!
I had a really great week at Marta's apartment. It's close to subway stations and close to good restaurants, bars and supermarkets located in Williamsburg. Also Marta is a great hostess. I really felt at home.
The only thing as lovely as the rooftop view (which is stunning), is Marta and Co. The flat is full of charm and space, great amenities, location and transport links. Good local knowledge and great recommendations, I would easily recommend for the sole traveller or couple.
I had an awesome time at Marta's place. The apartment is extremely comfortable, very close to the subway, located in a nice area in Brooklyn close to cafes, gym (literally 1m away), bars and supermarkets.
Marta is very clean, friendly and also very respectful when it comes to your privacy. Totally recommend it! Thanks so much!
Great apartment in a well-located area of Brooklyn. The rooftop is a dream, and Marta (and the cats) are lovely.
