Emily and Brad:We also enjoyed a trip on the canals with Ester and Mark in their sloop. Again we were treated to fabulous hospitality not enjoyed on the mainstream tours. We can thoroughly recommend both the apartment and the canal tour and hope to be able to return for a much longer stay at some stage.

The flat was beautiful, spacious and luxurious and exceeded our expectations. The fridge was stocked with breakfast items and there were dutch treats, various fresh fruit and fresh flowers. We felt so welcomed!! The beds were very comfortable and the flat had a large shower as well as a deep tub. We loved the bikes and did lots of bike trips instead of the tram. The neighbourhood was perfect: very short walk to tram, great shopping and restaurants and beautiful outdoor back garden with eating table. The canal ride was so nice with an amazing spread of various foods and drinks. We appreciated the helpful book that Ester prepared for various sights and locations. We loved visiting Amsterdam and hope to return some day!
The Flat is perfect for two people.
Not for 4 unless it's part of one family.
There isn't a bathroom as such. There is a bath, shower and toilet all built next to one another into an end wall in the bedroom area.
It's situated in a busy eating precinct and a block away from the famous Albert Cuyp Market. Convenient to several tramlines.
Ester was easy to communicate with and we took the opportunity to do the boat trip which her family organizes for guests at a price. Nibbles and drinks provided .
Was a great experience and gives one the chance to see Amsterdam from the water.
It was warm weather whilst there so left back door open for air but were woken nightly (1am) by a neighbour rummaging in his shed which was only a matter of a few meters away. Also had cats enter looking for food.
We did keep the door closed the latter end of our stay but made if very stuffy.
Location is excellent. Ester wasn't there but her son Teun was and he certainly was helpful.
Dear Ester, Thank you so much for making our stay in Amsterdam so comfortable !
When I walked into your apartment, I immediately fell in love with it and felt right at home. You had not only left us little treats, but had also ensured there were plenty of toys and necessities for our babies, which was so appreciated ! The pod machine was extremely welcome as we have the same one at home and had missed our delicious coffees ! The apartment is clean and modern. I especially liked the layout and it suited our family with children well. Outside the apartment are many trendy cafes and shops and what a fantastic location, right near the market. Close to tram 16 & 24, we were able to hop on and ride all around Amsterdam. We stayed 5 nights and it wasn't long enough. We will definitely return to Amsterdam one day and I will definitely be staying in Ester's apartment !
Thank you again Ester,
Rosanne, Jack, Arwin, Sailor and Aria
Lovely and brilliantly appointed flat in Amsterdam. We really enjoyed the local feel of the De Pijp neighbourhood and the easy access to all the sights of the city. The flat was spacious, nicely decorated and had everything you could need... Especially the bikes, which were great to have! We shall definitely be back!
Ester and her husband were very helpful and kind. The apartment was extremely well located. We loved the neighbourhood. We were very happy with the experience and recommend highly this listing.
This apt is a little gem. We've been to Amsterdam twice now and both times we stayed in Ester apt. We love it so much, we actually waited until she had availability bc we wont stay any where else. I will most definitely come back and stay at Ester'. She is soo welcoming you feel like you are coming home, she thinks of everything for her guests, i would give details but its better to be surprised :) Thank you again for everything Ester! We will definitely come back! Your apt and neighborhood is what made me love Amsterdam for what it really is!

About the Host, Ester
I'm the mother of 4 beautiful children, two boys and two girls. We live in Amsterdam for 22 years. Our house is 6 stores high and the first floor apartment and the apartment above (on the third and fourth floor) are now apartments for hire.
Marc, my husband and I design houses and everything inside. Beside architecture I also design huge spectacular cakes for weddings, parties and of course for the birthday of my children!
Three days a week I'm also teacher at the highschool from Amsterdam where I teach students how to design all kind of things. Marc and I both designed the house we live in and the apartments for our guests.
We also built our fantastisch camper (old Mercedes truck) to travel round the world with our kids.
See things, meet people and get inspired is one of my life motto's.
