Emily and Brad:We also enjoyed a trip on the canals with Ester and Mark in their sloop. Again we were treated to fabulous hospitality not enjoyed on the mainstream tours. We can thoroughly recommend both the apartment and the canal tour and hope to be able to return for a much longer stay at some stage.

Bruce:For an extra fee if the weather is right and they are available they will take you on a private boat tour of the canals complete with pillows snacks and drinks. You will feel like a movie star and was a highlight of our vacation!

Brian:If you have the chance I would highly recommend the boat tour on Ester and her husband's boat. It was so much fun and we got to see all of Amsterdam by winding through all the canals.

The price includes;

  • Three of us (well travelled couple, with 8 years old son) spent a wonderful two weeks at Ester's place. It is incredibly well located, just off wonderful Cuypmarkt, in lively, neighboorly, Pijp. Frequent visitors to Amsterdam, we were discovering this part of town for the first time, with great pleasure. wonderful in of itself, it is but a short bike ride from all the touristy destinations. The apartment itself is homey, quiet, bright, very well thought through, welcoming. The little garden at the back is very welcomed after a very busy day. And Ester (who lives above) is a wonderful wonderful host. Warm, humane, welcoming. I give her apartment my very warmest recommendation.

  • The room was everything we expected! It was clean and close to so many wonderful areas. Our host was very gracious and gave us all the information about the area that we needed. She even got up at 5:30 am on a Saturday to say goodbye.....would definitely recommend this BnB. Vee

  • Ester and Marc are great and lovely hosts! They really care about you and you can feel it everywhere: from letters they send you to the flowers on the dinner table.
The appartment is exactly what you expect it to be after reading the description and watching photos. No.. It's not what you expect, it's something more :)
The area is nice and quite despite the market and a lot of cafés and bars.
We'll definitely return to the place!

  • My family and I had a great experience at Ester's home. The space was beautifully decorated, very clean and beds were a plus - very comfortable. She kindly managed to get an extra bed for my mother (as she was the fifth person) and I really appreciated that. We also enjoyed a lot the treats Ester left for us, it was really thoughtful of her. As a host, Ester couldn't have been better, very nice, easy to communicate with and generous.
I highly recommend this place and we'll be back as soon as we can!

    Thank you,Ester!

  • My brand new husbend and i, stayed at ester for a long weekend, the apartment was like our dream home, very big and comfy. Everything we needed was in the apartment, all you need is your clothes ;) it feels like your own home combined with a 5 star hotel. My favorite thing about the apartment was the location, best in amsterdam! 2 min walk from the albert cuyp market, fresh food &great shoping. The whole area is filled with resturants and bars. And a short tram ride away from the center of town. I highly recommend

  • We had the most wonderful experience at Ester's home. The space was beautiful, the location was convenient, the bikes were so fun to ride around (even though Mokummers have a fast and aggressive cycling culture with a steep learning curve!), and the little treats left for us were a real pleasure.

Ester couldn't have been nicer or more generous during our stay. I was sad to only spend two nights here, and we will be back as soon as we can. Don't miss this place!

  • The apartment was everything that Ester and previous occupants described it as- the perfect place to enjoy a long weekend in Amsterdam. Ester's guidance on places to eat was invaluable and we had great meals at Mamouche (Moroccan) and l'Ozio (Italian opposite Simpe)l plus some simple lunches at The Proud Otter café (in the Charlie and May shop) and the café at Hotel Bourg store. The highlight for us of the weekend was the bikes which is definitely the way to see the City- getting you to the parts of the City you want to get to and rapidly away from the areas you don't want to be in!. We also enjoyed the use of the films available on demand which was a great way to end both evenings after retiring from the restaurant. De Pijp is a fantastic place to stay as it is an oasis of calm from the bustle of the city centre but equally fully endowed with great restaurants, bars and shops. We will return to enjoy the canal trip as it was too cold to do in February!

  • Ester could not have been more accommodating and the apartment suited us (2 adults, one child) very well. It's a great neighbourhood location and we had a wonderful time walking (museums, canals etc) and the apartment was perfect to unwind in and with great restaurants for the evening. Very comfortable beds too! Kind touches (treats) in the kitchen made us feel very welcome.
Thanks Ester and we would definitely recommend...

    February 2014
  • The appartment was absolutely great! Not only because of the location but also because of the equipments and the interior that is composed with a lot of care. Ester made us feel very welcome and even offered us to stay longer on the day of our departure. I would definitely recommend this appartment for discovering Amsterdam!

About
I'm the mother of 4 beautiful children, two boys and two girls. We live in Amsterdam for 22 years. Our house is 6 stores high and the first floor apartment and the apartment above (on the third and fourth floor) are now apartments for hire. Marc, my husband and I design houses and everything inside. Beside architecture I also design huge spectacular cakes for weddings, parties and of course for the birthday of my children! Three days a week I'm also teacher at the highschool from Amsterdam where I teach students how to design all kind of things. Marc and I both designed the house we live in and the apartments for our guests. We also built our fantastisch camper (old Mercedes truck) to travel round the world with our kids. See things, meet people and get inspired is one of my life motto's.
