The space
Cosy and comfortable apartment on the ground floor of a typical Amsterdam building (1888) in the very populair neighbourhood 'De Pijp'.

'De Pijp' as we Amsterdammers know it today is without doubt a melting pot of cultures and nationalities. The Pijp is known for the vividness of it, and almost feels like a little village inside the city. De Pijp is brimming with fantastic cafés, culinair restaurants, coffee shops and bars. Within walking distance from the apartment you will find popular sites such as the Heineken Museum, the Van Gogh Museum, Vondelpark, The Royal Concerthall, Paradiso, Leidseplein and the Rijksmuseum.The Albert Cuyp market (just round the corner) is the most famous day market in Amsterdam.

It will take about five minutes by foot to get to the center of Amsterdam. You will also be able to take the tram, stops are only a three minutes walk from the apartment. De Pijp is also known for it's shops, bars and muliticultural restaurants. The Sarphatipark and the Vondelpark are just around the corner. You will make it to the highway (A1, A2 and Ring A10) in just a couple of minutes.

The apartment: Just two steps down from the street access to the large livingroom. The apartment is very spacious (60 m2) Inside you find a diningtable for four, a big lounge bank in front of a 43inch flat screen. The kitchen has a microwave, dish washer, Nespresso coffee machine, water boiler, fornace , a refridgerator and a washing machine. For kids we've got lots of toys, highchairs, baby beds.

At the back of the apartment you find the bathrooms; a bath, a separated douche, a toilet and sink. Towels are provided. Next to the bathroom you find the large doublebed. Two single beds could be added (the double could be split in two). Two folding doors give access to the quiet lighted terrace (partly covered).

The perfect way to explore Amsterdam is the typical Dutch way; by bike!. Two brand new bikes are included. More bikes could be rent for €10,- a day. For children we've got children bicycles and seats...

Free Internet is available. You can find a lot of maps, guides and touristic books about Amsterdam. When you arrive the fridge is filled with basics, flowers and fruit on the table.... Make your own Nespresso, cups enough... The bakery (7 days open) is just across the street!

Want a boat-ride? We offer you a private boat trip through the canals of Amsterdam with a pick-nick basket. If you want we can drop you wherever you want. We charge a reasonable price, 150 euro, for this private experience by locals. Just ask us! Some reviews;

Emily and Brad:We also enjoyed a trip on the canals with Ester and Mark in their sloop. Again we were treated to fabulous hospitality not enjoyed on the mainstream tours. We can thoroughly recommend both the apartment and the canal tour and hope to be able to return for a much longer stay at some stage.

Bruce:For an extra fee if the weather is right and they are available they will take you on a private boat tour of the canals complete with pillows snacks and drinks. You will feel like a movie star and was a highlight of our vacation!

Brian:If you have the chance I would highly recommend the boat tour on Ester and her husband's boat. It was so much fun and we got to see all of Amsterdam by winding through all the canals.

The price includes;
-two brand new bikes
-a filled fridge with basics (eggs,cheese,milk,juice,beer etc
-fruit, flowers, snacks, drinks etc
-cleaning fee
-tourist tax (in Amsterdam 5,5% of the total rate!)
-Possibility to store luggage when arriving early or leaving late
NO EXTRA COSTS AT ALL!!

We love the Pijp and already live here now for 22 years. It's not touristic but always vivid.

I'm the mother of 4 beautiful children, two boys and two girls. We live in Amsterdam for 26 years. Marc, my husband and I design houses and everything inside. Beside architecture I also design huge spectacular cakes for weddings, parties and of course for the birthday of my children! Three days a week I'm also teacher at the highschool from Amsterdam where I teach students how to design all kind of things. Marc and I both designed the house we live in and the apartments for our guests. We also built our fantastisch camper (old Mercedes truck) to travel round the world with our kids. See things, meet people and get inspired is one of my life motto's.
