Welcome to the other Kells, in the county of Kilkenny; our cottage is located opposite the King's river in the historical village of Kells. This lovingly restored thatch-roofed cottage is nestled in an area of great natural beauty and unique archaeological heritage. Originally built in the late 18th century by a local entrepreneurial family, the Mill Cottage was the Mullins family ancestral home. Today the charming cottage has been sympathetically refurbished and restored to recreate old world charm, with a modern twist. The house is surrounded by lovely gardens nurtured by the previous and present owners and resulting in a peaceful and visually stunning landscape.
The Mill Cottage has a warm and homely atmosphere from the moment you step inside. The accommodation offers two beautifully furnished and decorated bedrooms (one double, one twin), bathroom with waterfall shower, a large cosy living room with original open fireplace and wood burning stove, and a modern kitchen with all mod cons (electric oven & hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, etc.). A hall leads out to the gardens, with steps leading up to a small apple orchard from which are views of the surrounding countryside, mills, church spires and the nearby historic Augustinian Priory. Situated in an idyllic rural location, the Mill Cottage is for someone looking for something special and unique.
Camping within the gardens is available and great fun!!, You can email me for more information.

Mill Cottage Kells was a wonderful place to stay. Our hosts were extremely friendly and helpful with suggestions of what to do and where to eat. It is one of the nicest places we have stayed in in the world. Thank you Jadzia and Dave from Karen, Graham, Heather and Geoff from Australia
Amazing place, cottage, gardens both stunning - the interior was perfectly laid out, cosy, spotless and had everything you would need - Wifi perfect, DVDs, music, great kitchen with all necessary utensils (including daily fresh eggs from the garden chickens!) - the garden was amazing, large and magical, Jadzia is an expert gardener and it shows, safe for kids, comfortable and relaxing - Dave and Jadzia were perfect hosts, really friendly and helpful, kids adored them - our eldest got a free guitar lesson and still raves about it. All in all easily one of the best Airbnb rentals we have had - highly recommend it
Our much-too-brief stay at the Enchanting Mill Cottage in Kells was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Ireland. The location was spectacular, the house and garden were like a fairytale (especially the bed!) but most of all, staying with Jadzia and Dave felt like we were visiting old friends. The knowledge they shared made our trip immeasurably better and Dave's gift of music kept us company during many hours of driving. We didn't want to leave and we will certainly be back.
We felt welcomed and very well taken care of. Jadzia and Dave took time to help us to discover the best that the area has to offer. The accommodation was just as described. The priory at Kells truly is an undiscovered gem. Kilkenny is close by and has loads of fun for everyone. Thanks again to Jadzia for pointing us towards a great day out and Dave for sharing his talents with us.
Enchanting indeed! We had a great time at this gorgeous cottage, perfectly furnished and decorated, nice and warm. Great hosts!! Loved the warm Irish welcome. They showed us the village around, took us to the pub, told us nice stories and made our trip in Ireland even more special!! We definetely recommend and definitely would stay there again! For a long time if I could, cos the place is lovely, the people, everything! Thanks for having us!!!!
Super accueil de Jadzia et Dave. Cottage fabuleux et dépaysant. Séjour inoubliable, à recommander sans modération.
The cottage is indeed enchanting and the hosts delightful. We had four lovely days at this location and it worked perfectly as our home base for travel around the area and a Kilkenny visit. The gardens at the cottage are STUNNING!!! The animals were a treat.
Jadzia and Dave were the most perfect hosts. Very generous and inviting, yet giving us the privacy when desired. And it seems that Dave is indeed the World's Most Interesting Man.
All around +++AAA.
