We had a great stay at La Maisonette during our four-day trip to Berlin.
La Maisonette is very conveniently located with public transport a few minutes away. There are plenty of restaurants, a supermarket, and a very nice farmer's market nearby.
The apartment itself is comfortably furnished, clean and warm (even though it was -15°C in Berlin). It looked recently refurbished.
We particularly enjoyed the "little house" feeling, with two levels.
Juliana was very nice and she kindly accepted to store our luggage at her office until the apartment was ready (we arrived mid-morning).
We would definitely recommend staying there to enjoy life in the Kollwitz Platz neighborhood, while being a U-Bahn or S-Bahn ride away from all other exciting places in Berlin.
We just wrapped up two full weeks in Berlin and couldn't be happier with our stay. The apartment we chose this time (the second trip we booked with Juliana) was located in a different end of Prenzlauer Berg and right around the corner from Juliana's office, which was extremely convenient. Plus, she was always available and happy to help whenever we stopped by. The apartment's location is lovely, perfectly situated just steps away from every kind of shop you can think of, the park with twice-weekly farmer's markets and the all-important U-Bahn line. And staying for two weeks we had a true local experience: getting to know the market vendors, talking with neighbors, doing laundry and other real-life experiences that are, in many ways, far more valuable than sightseeing. In fact, everything was so perfect that we skipped taking a side trip to Prague like we had been planning. Despite the gray, rainy, cold, dreary November Berlin weather we never left and found more things to explore in Prenzlauer Berg than we could fit in 14 days. Thank you Juliana for a wonderful time, again!
If I went to Berlin tomorrow, I would stay at Juliana 's house, the house is flirty, cozy and very quiet. I am a sensitive person and thanked sleeping was how quiet the house and the comfort of the mattress. Juliana is a good hostess, she has thought of everything you might need a little traveler with luggage at home will find hair dryer, iron clothes, umbrellas, guidebooks , etc.
The house is in one of the most vibrant neighborhoods throughout Berlin. It's full of cafes with terraces, restaurants flirtatious and endless shops of all kinds with charm where all want to enter and shop.
Juliana and Daniel thank you very much for all the sites that we recomendasteis in the neighborhood, very successful . The delicious carrot cake , uhhh .
The trip to Berlin was fantastic thanks to the pleasant stay in this house and a travel guide for mobile that I recommended a friend, Visitabo Berlin.
I spent 4 days in Berlin with a friend and we had an awesome time there! The apartment is great, enough privacy even if you travel with a friend as there are two levels (one of us was sleeping on the comfortable sofa bed). It´s located right in the heart of Prenzlauer Berg, a funky area with lots of cafes, bars and restaurants - literally just in front of the doorstep so we didn´t really use the kitchen;)
It´s just a quick walk to the next subway stop and very close to the city centre which makes it very easy to get around.
The place itself is very quiet since it´s facing away from the street.
I can highly recommend this apartment if you want to have your little haven while in Berlin but still want to be close to all the action;)
Our stay in Juliana's flat was everything we were hoping for! Nice part of the city, and close to Subway. Perfect! The communication with the host worked without problems.
In a word: perfect!
First the place is nice, clean and well located.
Juliana is very cool and professional. The key was available in a real estate agency just near the flat, very practical.
The apartment is wonderfully located in Prenzlauerberg our favorite district (market, flea market, cafes, restaurants etc... and a saved architecture). It has a great charm. Modern, cosy. One couldn't dream best for a stay in Berlin. Even if the district is apparently not central and if Berlin is quite big, there are easy transportation to every place by tram (15 mn or 5 mn walk) and Sbahn or Ubahn (less than 10 mn). We highly recommand.
Great location, close to coffees and cool hangout places!
Amazing apt! comfortable beds, good shower... We just loved the place.
Juliana is so nice, helpful and attentive... we really recommend the apt, do not miss!
Great two-level (maisonette) flat in an absolutely perfect location, in fact this is arguably the best location in Prenzlauer Berg if you want quiet while also being close to lots of good restaurants and some very nice mellow bars such as Kollberg 36 (a 3-minute walk) and Nachtigall (the main wine bar on Kollwitzplatz). It's also very convenient to public transportation: in two minutes you're at the tram and in 10 at Alexanderplatz.
The flat itself is clean and comfortable, everything worked perfectly. There is a balcony to the courtyard, downstairs has a living room with couch, table and chairs, and a kitchen; upstairs has a full bath and large bedroom.
We (a couple) were extremely happy with this flat and will almost surely stay in it again. As usual Juliana was very friendly and easy to work with. The flat is two blocks from her office.
Five stars! Juliana is a delightful person and a wonderful host. She and her colleagues provided excellent recommendations for food, drink and outings and quickly responded to all of our inquiries. Prenzlauer Berg (PB) is a wonderful neighborhood and the apartment, which is perfectly located just off of Kollwitzplatz, is well represented by the information and reviews on airbnb--our expectations were most certainly met! Two things I might add to the description: The dryer is not an American-style tumble dryer, but a European style hanging dryer (there is a dry rack as well); also, there is no exhaust fan in the upstairs bathroom, but several windows can be opened. When we first arrived, the apartment was not quite to our expected level of cleanliness. We contacted Juliana and she immediately sent a cleaning team back over. After another round, the apartment was spic and span and we were able to comfortably settle in for the duration of our fourteen-day stay. A must-visit establishment in PB is Bonanza Coffee Heroes (a Juliana recommendation), which is leading the wave of “third-generation” coffee. If you do go, please say hello to Yumi, Kiduk and Felix for us. Mustafa’s in Kreuzberg is worth the hype, although the line can be a bit much. Boxhagener Platz in Friedrichshain is also a must-visit part of Berlin—wonderful shops, cafes and restaurants. The Clarchen Ballhaus is a delight as is the energetic nightlife of Berlin. If you go just before Christmas, check out the Christmas markets as well—the ones at the Gendarmenmarkt and the Charlottenburg Palace are best. Thanks again to Berlin and to Juliana for a wonderful Christmas and NYE.
