The Space

Large bedroom (300+ square feet) available in 4br / 2ba four floor home two-family brick home (2000+ square ft) on safe, tree-lined, landmark block in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn across the street from Pratt's Higgin's Hall and 1 blk from Choice market.

Room features large walk in closet, hardwood floors, exposed brick wall with pretty but non-working fireplace.

Room available furnished or unfurnished (currently furnished with wood full size storage bed with four drawers, desk, two dressers, one nightstand, built in shelves, bookshelf, file cabinet and love seat that converts to full size bed).

All utilities included: heat, electric, gas, wi-fi, every other week cleaning service for common areas (kitchen, bath, foyer, stairs and hallway).

One house mate a Pratt graduate student occupies the house full time, the two other rooms are listed on airbnb and one room is currently unoccupied (getting work done on it and occasionally occupied by the owner who splits time between Brooklyn and Western Massachusetts).

Vibe of the house is laid back and quiet (everyone is pretty busy and not home much) and all bedrooms are located on their own floors which ensures privacy (its a big house)

Great location, around the corner from the G-train at Clinton-Washington and three blocks from C-train at Clinton-Washington, walk to restaurants and services on Dekalb, Myrtle or Fulton, BAM, Ft. Greene Park, PRATT, Bklyn flea, etc.

10 minute subway ride to williamsburg, 15 min subway ride to financial district (lower manhattan), 30 min ride to midtown manhattan

There is a large eat in kitchen with center island and stool seating, window seating area, bistro cafe table/chairs, stainless steel appliances, including dishwasher, great kitchen both for those who like to cook and entertaining

First, last and one month security required to move in as well as references

sorry, no pets

  • Accommodations were great; nice big, clean room with a comfy bed, desk, tons of closet space, full length mirrors and modern dressers. Fully stocked kitchen (with dishwasher) and other stainless appliances. In house washer and dryer!

Erica is a great host and does a great job in selecting housemates. She was even considerate enough set aside a good chunk of space in the refrigerator and labeled it with my name.

Transit wise, it is 1/2 a block away from the G line and 3 blocks from the C. Easy access to manhattan.

A supermarket (Pioneer) is a block away with pretty decent produce. Neighborhood is super safe and on wide open, tree-lined streets. Neighborhood cafe is two blocks down.

This is Clinton Hill at its best and definitely should be at the top of your AirBNB list!

  • Great stay!
*HOST* Erica is great! Accommodates all and any issues promptly, provides alternative solutions, and is even mailing me my forgotten hat back to the West Coast ^-^ She also provided sheets and linens, for me and installed a lock on my door at my request.
*COMMUTE* 30-40 minute commute from times square where I was interning, but feels like 15-20 minutes. Connect the A-G, walk a couple blocks to the C, or take the 38 bus to the Q.
*LOCATION* Convenient access Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn and Far Rockaway beaches and wildlife sanctuary!! Plenty of mini marts and small restaurants nearby.

    Most important:
*SAFTEY* I connected A-G subways. G subway stop is at the end of block, two seconds from house, so I could come home at any hour with shopping bags etc, and I always felt safe for the short walk.
Very nice, safe and growing area.

    Things to consider:
Each room in on its own floor which is nice, but means a lot of stairs!
House is older/vintage so it is less insulated and a little dusty, however kitchen is very modern and equipped.
Staying outside of Manhattan is a good idea especially for first timers as it forces you to get outside your comfort zone and see more than the big city.
