This designer-decorated unit offers a wall-mounted TV and 2 queen-size beds. Parking included after July 1. New bamboo flooring installed in May of 2013.
The deck has a plush chaise lounge, and dining table to enjoy the fabulous ocean, canal, and mountain views! The building offers a brand-new pool and deck, BBQ, laundry, parking, convenience store, sauna, jacuzzi , exercise room and much more. Large lobby with free daily newspaper, 24-hour security, 4 elevators and the aloha spirit.
The nearby neighborhood includes several major hotels and numerous large and small restaurants that cater to every nationality. World-class shopping to farmers markets are located throughout Waikiki. A few blocks away you will find famous Kapiolani park and the Waikiki Shell, Honolulu Zoo, Waikiki Aquarium, Diamond Head, golfing and many tennis courts. Watch the sunsets from nearly any vantage point along the beach and see the Friday night fireworks from the Hilton Village. Bring your camera.
Transportation is readily available. Bus stops are located in front of the property, and you can circle the island from your backyard. Rental cars are not really necessary unless you want to spend a lot of time at a certain destination. Ala Moana Center and Convention Center are about 1 mile away, ride the bus or one of the many open-air trolleys.
The property is located within a few short blocks from the world's most famous beach, where you can take in surfing, stand-up paddling, canoe surfing, body boarding, snorkel or just sun bathe. Popular surf spots in front of the building include Publics, Queens Surf, Canoes, Pops and 3's. This is where everyone wants to be!

Interaction with Guests
You will retrieve your keys from the lockbox. The lockbox is #3 and is located in the bus lane, on the ocean side of the property, behind the surfboards, on a large structure post.
This condo is in the middle of Waikiki, you can walk to the beach, shopping and all restaurants for half the cost of an equivalent hotel. nearby is Kapiolani park with the Honolulu Zoo, Aquarium, Waikiki Shell and Diamond Head Crater.
The public bus stops 1/2 block away to gain access or
anywhere on the island.

On the day of departure, check-out time is no later than 11am. Guests may request a late check-out. Approval is required for late check-out requests and is based on availability. Approved guests will be assessed the following rates:
-Check-out between 11:01am and 5:00pm: 50% of the daily rental rate.
-Check-out beyond 5:01pm: 100% of the daily rental rate.
From an Administrative perspective, Roger, my host did an excellent job. I had an issue with parking due to miscommunication and he dropped what he was doing and came right over and resolved it. He made a point of letting me know if there was anything I needed, he was just a phone call away. That was a pleasant surprise .
As far as the unit itself was concerned, it was clean, in a nice building, and most of the amenities it advertised were there. The Air Conditioner, however, was barely functional and due to one of the glass panes in the windows being out, the unit was constantly too hot and stuffy due to the ineffectiveness of the out-dated A/C unit and the outside air coming in.
For the most part, it was everything that was advertised, however, due to the high room temp, sleeping was not comfortable and therefore, took something away from the trip
Clean, Comfortable and Convenient! - the three "C's" of a vacation - that's exactly how I would describe our Panoramic Ocean/Mtn View Condo in Honolulu, Hawaii! The Condo was 2 blocks from Waikiki Beach and the Ala Moana Shopping Mall - the largest in Honolulu - so convenient and easy to walk to! Numerous restaurants were all within short walking distance as well. The view from the Condo Lanai was spectacular, and the photos on the website are spot on! The pool was incredible (viewable from the Condo Lanai) and open late for those last minute dips after a long day of sight-seeing. The Condo is sound-proof - we were there 9 days and barely ever heard any noise from neighbors. Parking is included and within a short walk of the Condo. The 24 hour laundry facilities and the convenience store (with late night hours) in the Condo building were both added bonuses that helped to make our vacation superb! The security in the building is well-managed and highly visible. The Condo room itself is as pictured - it is clean and comfortable, but obviously has been well used. The Airbnb staff are superb about keeping in touch with you frequently leading up to your vacation, and then are available promptly if any concerns arise during your vacation. I would stay at this Condo location again without hesitation!
Room was very comfortable for me and my 2 kids. Enjoyed the stay very much. Lots of stores and restaurants walking distance from this location. Our flight was delayed, arrived late night and feeling flustered, Thank you to Roger for going out of your way to help me and my kids, very cool guy.
This was a great place to stay during my vacation in waikiki. The room was clean and tastefully decorated. The lanai was the best part. It overlooked the pool and was a nice place to unwind after a day in the sun. The ac worked well and kept us comfortable at night. There is a well stocked convenience store by the pool. Another great perk was secured parking in a garage about a 5 minute walk away from the building. Our contact, Carrie, was hands off, but when we needed her very responsive and helpful.
My recent stay at the Island Colony was very nice. We stayed for 4 nights and the room was very centrally located. Walking distance to restaurants, shopping, and the beach. The room was as described. Pretty nice hotel room layout with everything you need including a kitchen sink. The only thing that I would say is the shower needs updating/deep cleaning. Pool was very large and nice Jacuzzi. Lots of people in and out of hotel but quiet at night. Did I mention the amazing views?!
Place was great, very comfortable. 6-8 min walking distance to the beach. It has great balcony view. We've never met Roger, but he would help if we needed something. Good price and quality.
the apartment was very nice. nothing unexpexted. parking is half a block away, very convenient. the contact person (carrie) was helpful and friendly. the location is great. we definitely would book it again!

I am a lifelong realtor, being licensed since 1973. I am a full time realtor, specializing in Waikiki rentals and sales. I am a graduate of USC, was on swim team and water polo, participated in water sports all my life. Among my interests are swimming, body boarding, fishing and being near the beach.
