This apartment is great!!! I stayed here for about two weeks and it was a total pleasure! The apartment is really comfortable, exactly like pictures show, LOVELY! I didn't get to meet Perri but she was always fast to respond to any questions I had! The location is amazing!! a few blocks away from union square which is my favorite place in manhattan, and a block away from the beautiful Gramarcy park! The most amazing thing about this apartment is how quiet and peaceful it is! So you can get a good night sleep after enjoying the city. Thank you Perri for this great experience!!
I had a such a great trip to NYC. Staying at Perri's made the big city feel so much more like home. I personally really couldn't ask for more in a location, with easy access to many quality restaurant options, shopping, subway, farmers market, raw and organic food options. I would love to stay there again on future visits. Thank you so much for having me Perri and helping make my visit all the more wonderful.
Perri initially communicated clearly, but did not keep track of any of the information that I provided her, i.e., precise arrival & departure times. The caretaker did not respond to my phone messages when I landed, so I called Perri. She said to try texting him since he was at work -- still no response. I ended up going to my daughter’s place and waited over two hours until he sent someone with the keys.
I never heard from anybody re: check-out until I landed back in San Francisco.
The apartment is as described. It was comfortable; the kitchen was well-stocked with basics.
One major down-side for anyone who wished to sleep past 8 AM (say, someone from a different time-zone): the pianist next door practiced scales for hours each morning except Sunday.
Everything was perfect during our stay in NYC also thanks to Perri's apartment! We found there everything we needed, it is well located ( few minutes from the subway entrance (we could reach every point of manhattan easily) in a really nice area! we hope to have the chance to come again!
Second time staying there, everything perfect! Amazing location and charming village!
I loved staying in Perri's place. The location was definitely ideal and I definitely felt like a local, which I love. There is so much to do in the area, you can walk anywhere and the subway is a short walk away. I spent every morning at the coffee shop across the street. The apartment was comfortable and Perri was very responsive, which was great. My only complaint would be the door to the apartment. The lock was super difficult for me to work, my boyfriend didn't have too much trouble...I guess I didn't have the magical touch, but it wasn't an easy lock. But otherwise a great stay!
I've stayed at Perri's apartment for almost two weeks. The location is fantastic with plenty of cafes & restaurants along the street and stores close by and the subway at Union Square or 23St is only a short walk away. Gramercy Park is a wonderful neighborhood! The apt is at the rear of the building and extremely quiet . It is easily accessible with very few steps which is a big plus when travelling with a heavy suitcase. It's very secure and comfortable with a really nice bed, full cable TV, wireless & airconditioning. Perri is a very good host!
Perri is the kind of host that will not communicate with you clearly, will not take in the information that you provide her, but sure enough she'll be furious with you for her overlooking the info you've provided...
Communicating with Perri was problematic from beginning to end: I couldn't get a clear, informative response on how to get into the apartment, even as the check-in date got closer, and I never heard from her on her check-out procedure until a few hours after the check-out.
The apartment, however, is as described.
All in all, I will avoid dealing with her altogether.
We stayed 9 days at Perri's lovely apartment.
The location is PERFECT! There're many hidden famous restaurants/cafes nearby, the beloved whole foods and trader joe's, and hanging out on Washington Square Park at weekends is so fun- all walk in distance! It's also easy to take subway/taxi or just walk everywhere:) At night the area is quite quiet as long as you turn off the AC by the bed. Thanks Perri!
Perri's apartment is in a fantastic location. It's a very short walk to the subway station at Union Square. This made our sightseeing very easy as the subway ride is about 15 min from Central Park, and 15 min from the downtown area. The tree lined street the apartment located on is very quiet and it was easy to get a good night's sleep! Also there is an abundance of great restaurants nearby. The "Friend of the Farmer" across the road, and "Schnippers" on East 23rd Street were two of our favourites.
The apartment was cosy and simple. The kitchenette and bathroom were small but functional. Fernando the caretaker was easy to get in contact with to get the key, and we appreciated him switching the air conditioner on for us, as it was very hot and humid when we arrived!
Overall Perri's apartment was an excellent airbnb experience, and we recommend it to anyone looking for a great launch pad in New York City!
