About this listing
Our cool and relaxed "double" bedroom apartment is located 4 mi. from downtown Austin. The rooms are connected by an open area, hence the listing shows as one bedroom. It comfortably fits a larger group and is cozy and private enough for a couples' getaway. Enjoy wifi, easy access to Capital Metro. Less than 15 min from airport.
Come stay in my guest quarters which is about 700 square feet of space connected to my main house. My guest space has a private front entrance facing South 1st Street, a full private bathroom, and a bedroom that is more like 2 rooms and has 3 beds. There is also a good sized living room and dining room that connect my main house by a locked door for privacy.
Our location is off of South 1st Street and very convenient into town. Circuit of the Americas is less than 15 minute drive. We usually hop on the bus for a ten minute ride to 6th st and Congress. Our house actually faces South 1st Street so the bust stop to go down town is across the street and a few steps north near St. Elmo St. The bus coming back drops you off just 5 houses from our house so it is very convenient.
Although the space is connected to my home, it is very private and connected by a locked door. Inquire about access to the main kitchen/laundry areas. I live in the main house and do have a dog, and although he does run around the house, he won't have access to your private quarters.
Guests have wifi, cable TV, fridge, coffee maker. If you need access to main kitchen and/or laundry inquire to make arrangements. If you have a dog the back yard is a nice place for him to get some fresh air.
Interaction with Guests
We live in the attached main area but since it is connected by a locked door we may not see each other. Of course if you have any questions or you go to the back porch for some fresh air we will definitely say "hi".
Our home is located just 4 miles south of the Texas State Capitol Building and 5 miles south of the University of Texas. We are parallel to SoCo, a neighborhood located on South Congress Avenue. A nationally-known shopping and cultural district famous for its many eclectic small retailers, restaurants, music and art venues and, of course, food trucks
Capital Metro is a reliable source of transportation. The stop is just a walk 5 houses down. If you have your own car, there is plenty of parking in the premises. Park in front of the house (please do not block the driveway that goes to the back of the house.
