Interaction with Guests
We are here to help, or will leave you to it - as you wish!
Clontarf is a well-known Dublin Bay village and is near the City Centre and Dublin Airport, as well as Eastpoint and the IFSC. We love the friendly vibe of our "Village in the City" as it is known, and especially love all there is to offer here for foodies and walkers alike! There are numerous restaurants and cafes, as well as golf, the beach, a nature reserve and the old Guinness family demesne, St Anne's Park. Anyone visiting us will not only feel welcome in our home, but will find that there is so much to do in Clontarf, before you take the bus (at the end of the road) to the City, Trinity, etc. as well as the famous and historic fishing villages of Howth or Malahide - our guests don't have to go far to find beautiful places to see!
The bus to the City Centre is at the end of our road, while parking is off-street in our driveway; we will collect and drop to the airport in evenings or any time at the weekend (€20), or otherwise, a taxi will take c. 20 minutes. There is also a bus direct from the airport, non-stop to the City Centre, where guests can then take the 130 bus to us! The 130 takes c. 20 mins from the City Centre to the end of our road. We are also close to Eastpoint and the IFSC, which is ideal for business travellers.

Well, not much to add to the previous comments! We just agree that is "sympa"(nice) to stay at David and Leigh-Ann house's even if we do think that the room is tiny. (We stayed 4 nights). We do appreciate to talk with our hosts: it's for that we use this website and not a Hotel booker. You do not have all the "services" but you do have a sincere "sympathy". // A piece of advice for those going to stay at Clontarf ( far from the bus office in downtown) : Don't do like us, otherwise you can easily spend lot of money and time in transport! ;-( If you are coming to stay "3 days" buy directly at the Spar shop airport your "Leap Visitor Card" (not sold anywhere else!!!), as its costs 19,50€/pp ( bus, tram-LUAS, train-DART, Air-Lync Bus to/from airport inclusive). To do a return trip from Clontarf to Dublin or even to the closest DART station, to take the train to Howth ( = should go!!!) ) costs you 5,8€/pp, AND the bus driver just take coins and the exact amount ( of course is always complicated to know in advance how much you will need); the Dart return trip from Clontarf to Howth +-6€/pp ; not mentioning that the taxi from Clontarf to Busaras costs 16€ ...
Thanks guys. Do you mean Bus Aras? Downtown is only a 15 minute bus ride from Clontarf, a bit longer in rush hour, and can be as little as 10-12 minutes when there's little traffic. And the taxi to Bus Aras should not have cost you €16!?? I think your driver must have got lost along the way!
Our stay with Leigh-Ann was excellent. Their home is lovely and impeccably clean. They struck the perfect balance between being friendly while also allowing us our privacy. Sadly we didn't have much time with them and lots of work to do so we didn't get to explore the area much. But they gave us a wonderful recommendation for a Castle hotel where we could work and it was such an amazing work environment! Their little family was so sweet and hospitable, it was an absolute joy to meet them.
The bedroom got a little warm at night but nothing a small fan couldn't fix. However to be fair, I have felt that way at several european airbnb's so maybe I am just way to accustomed to American AC : )
The hosts are, like previously described, great! Kind, helpful, welcoming. Keep in mind though that the bedroom is very small (but a good bed) and the location is about 20min busride( due to 15x stops) from downtown dublin.
Great baathroom and shower!
Recommended for people on lower budget as dublin is expensive.
My stay with Leigh-Ann and family was delightful. The accommodation was super - clean, fresh, and peaceful - is effectively a private apartment. The location is fabulous with immediate access to beaches and a long promenade with a cycle path which stretches all the way into Dublin City. I greatly enjoyed the visit - thank you. Gina Ferriter
We found the location to be a beautiful one for four days in and around Dublin. As described, the location is a preferred area, spacious quiet garden grounds 10 minutes walk away, with parallel bus service if you prefer. Access to the downtown was great.
Leigh-Ann was most helpful, gracious and accommodating. She and David were there if needed; yet were very honoring of 'our space' in their lovely home.
The king-size bed was the deal maker. The clean ensuite and the garden room with new walk-out deck really give you your own apartment with in their home. They make the compact arrangement work exceptionally well.
Superb East Asian dining, 5 minutes away, is a MUST! Every referral she gave us for eating was exceptional. There are other great spots nearby as well.
We will look forward to a return visit, for certain!
David and Leigh Ann were welcoming hosts with clean and modern premises. Listing was as described and the facilities were satisfactory.
About the Host, Leigh-Ann
My husband, little girl and I love good, healthy food, plenty of fresh air and travelling. We love meeting new people and have always had good feedback from those who have enjoyed a stay in our home. Reading, jogging and music also feature in our lives, as well as seeing our friends and family on a regular basis. As the Promenade and the beach are literally at the end of our road, we spend a lot of time walking there, as well as in St Anne's Park, also local to us. With the excellent restaurants and cafes of Clontarf on our doorstep, the things we love most doing are there for the taking - so, please come and join us!
