Luca's place is a great value. It's a bit small, but if you don't plan on spending too much time in the room it doesn't really matter. He has a Rome travel guide and maps available to make your stay that much better. He was quick to respond to just about every question we had. We got in late after our flight got delayed and was kind enough to meet us so late in the evening. It's clean and well kept. The AC is a godsend after long day walking around town. It's just a 10-15 minute walk to the Colosseum, Forum, and other sites. Down the street is a cute Gelateria with great tasting gelato. We pretty much walked everywhere and in cases where the distance was a bit far we just took a taxi. I would definitely stay again.

Great spot at the back end of the colosseum. Quieter than most tourist spots, so thats nice. great bars nearby. Bed is upstairs in a loft area. The stairs are steep and narrow, ceiling is low - about 5 and a half feet.

The place is clean and tidy. It is a relatively close walk to the city centre (maybe 20 minutes) and a 15 minute walk to the entrance of the Roman Forum

We were checked in by Luca's mother and a man we supposed was his father. They kindly allowed us to check in early. Luca's apartment was clean, comfortable, and very safe. There were armed guards outside protecting something next door. The bed was comfortable and the TV had some English channels. It overlooked the Roman Forum, however, it was located at the EXIT of the Forum. In order to get to the entrance (or anything else for that matter), one must walk all the way around the Forum. The location was a small inconvenience though. There were two restaurants pretty close by but everything else was residential. It had a well-equipped kitchen, a washing machine, and outlet converters. While we were able to wash our clothes, we could not get them to dry even with hanging them all up for two days, closing the windows and turning on the air conditioning. There was an oscillating fan in the apartment, which I assume was supposed to help dry the clothes, but sadly it did not work. I'm not sure why this happened because we hang our clothes up to dry at home in sunny humid Florida and they dry overnight! Just beware. Also, be prepared for a 5 to 7-minute hot shower. The hot water runs out VERY quickly. Luca did not communicate as quickly with us as our other Italian hosts did. In fact, on the last day of our stay, we asked him some questions via text message and he never responded. This is mostly why we have given the listing 4 stars. We stayed in Italy for 10 days and found that having prompt helpful hosts was imperative while traveling in a foreign country we had never been to and where we didn't speak the language.

Great value - clean, as advertised, and no issues at all. Luca was very helpful in all communication beforehand. Good location (15-20min walk to coliseum metro and just across river from Trastevere area for good dining options).

Good location and very good value. The bed is the most comfortable one in all AirBnB I have ever stayed. I had the best sleep there in the journey so far. However, the layout of room is a little bit inconvenient, there is no place to put your luggage but you have to put it on the way and climb over it when you move around. The room in fact smaller than it looks like in the pictures.
