Other Things to Note
Please let us know how we can make your stay better once you arrive! Happy to make restaurant and activity recommendations as well :)
All we ask is that you treat the place like you would your own home, and please wash your dishes!
Also, please just be respectful of our neighbors, they are all very nice and we like to be nice to them back. It's a small building with lots of families, so if you come home late at night please keep your voices down as you walk through the hallways. Thank you!
Lovely place to stay. Comfortable and warm with all amenities one could need. Would definitely stay again.
Apartment was extremely conveniently located with comfortable street parking at all times. We had everything we needed for our short stay in Brooklyn. It was very clean and could comfortably fit 3-4 people. Although I did not meet with Steve or Pia personally, Pia was very helpful and answered all my silly questions promptly. Communication was smooth and so was the check in/check out. Thanks a lot for everything! It was great :)
Everything went better than expected! Pia and Steve were great hosts, even though we never met in person. They gave us plenty of information before the trip and it was very easy to settle down.
Apartment was as described; cozy, quiet and warm (especially when it was cold outside :) ). Location was quite perfect. Williamsburg turned out to be a very friendly neighbourhood with plenty to do. Still it was easy to take the subway and go where ever you wanted to.
Would recommend, easily!
Steve and Pia were terrific hosts. Didn't meet them in person, but communication beforehand was superb and the key retrieval was really easy, and we got in no problem. The apartment is excellent, very soothing and quiet. It has everything you need and the neighbourhood is great. Subway a few blocks away, and loads of nice restaurants. Only wish we could have stayed longer.
Pia and Steve were such gracious hosts! The listing was spot on accurate and they were on top of it with all communication prior to our trip to Brooklyn. Since we were traveling during Christmas weekend, Pia and Steve were out of town, but they contacted us several times before to make sure we knew how to get in, how to access the internet and where everything was. Smooth sailing! (They even gave us an emergency contact for a neighbor but we didn't have to call her once!)
The loft was immaculate. Very clean with a comfy bed and fold out sofa. There were three of us staying in the loft and there was PLENTY of room for our bags, purchases, make-shift office... Plus, there was a nice high table for us to eat, work and recap the day together.
I was especially impressed with...
1) Pia and Steve's host info on the frige with where to get groceries, wine, subway and taxi info. Answered all of our questions!
2) The red binder they put together with must-have spots to dine and shop at. Checked out a few!
3) Pia's super speedy text replies when we got there re: Wifi and sofa set up. They were CAMPING, but still replied right away (and called the internet company for us!) just to make sure we were all set up.
4) We arrived into NYC early in the morning, but instead of making us hang around the city with our bags, we were able to check in early so we could start our day luggage free.
Overall, a perfect place to stay in Brooklyn. It literally is a quick jaunt to the subway station and a breeze to get into the city. I would highly recommend this loft for anyone looking for a New York vacation with a Brooklyn beat vibe.
The apartment is beautiful -- it is exactly like in the pictures -- in fact, is more spacious than it seems in the pictures. We loved the art on the wall and the decoration. Also, Pia & Steve provided us everything we needed: internet, toilet paper, kitchen if fully equipped, towels, soap, ... in summary: everything we needed for your stay.
Neighborhood is fantastic. We already knew Williamsburg -- we live in NYC and we were looking for a place for 1 week in-between our current leases. Williamsburg is one our favorite neighborhoods and we wanted to get a feeling how it was to live there. There are very good restaurants nearby in 10 min you are in Manhattan by taking the L train (5 min walking + 5 min in the subway).
Also, communication was great -- Steve & Pia were away but they gave us instructions on how to find the apartment and get in. And responded to all our questions by email. In summary: I couldn't imagine something more pleasant and smooth.

About the Host, Steve
I'm a painter originally from Houston but have been living here for the past 5 years and I love it! Living in Brooklyn and Williamsburg is an amazing place to be these days. It's a great mix of super cool restaurants and bars and cheap produce and fish down on Grand Street, or great kilbasa and polish food up on Greenpoint Ave. We live next to a sick park and there is a beautiful Farmers Market around the corner from us every Saturday. Definitely a fun place to live, or visit!
We love hosting and meeting people from all over the world, and are happy to tell you our favorite spots that we recommend. Feel free to drop a line if you have any questions!
Too close not to mention! Just next door, can get routy on the weekends.
The bar with no name across the street. Cool scene and super close
Classic Brooklyn scene, this Brazilian spot is good for all meals. Good coffee & pastries, and classic fare. Recommend Brunch steak & eggs and the caipirhina cocktails.
Another good second hand store, but the one on 1st ave and 11th st in manhattan is a slightly better version
Argentinian food- great for dinner or brunch. Try the steak, paella or short ribs. The cocktail with Bulldog Gin is also amazing! If it's warm this is a great place to sit in the garden.
Gourmet thin crust Pizza!
Great brunch spot. Very brooklyn, they serve a french press with every coffee order.
A neighborhood favorite for brunch, but there's usually a wait & they don't take reservations. Good people watching if it's warm and you sit outside. Try the mushroom toast- so creamy & delicious.
Great second hand clothing store
Second hand store of carefully selected designer clothes- best in the city. If you go during the day on a weekend though, expect to wait a while for the fitting room.
A fun BBQ spot where they sell the meat by the pound. Good craft beer selection and incredible meat. Not fancy, you're sitting at picnic tables with other people- but for meat lovers it's a must.
Legit NY pizza. Ask for Carlos the owner and tell him Pia & Steve sent you!
Beautiful roof top with a great French bistro downstairs. Good for brunch, dinner or drinks.
Incredible homemade ice cream. A little pricey but totally worth it. Try the Ginger or Early Grey... yum! -Pia
Very cute store for trinkets, gifts, jewelry
Sexy bar with amazing views of the city. Definitely more of a splurge
The most delicious cheeses, we highly recommend treating yourself and maybe taking it over to the water for a nice snack
Very reasonably priced w/a fabulous atmosphere. Sit in the enclosed patio/garden all winter long! It's Middle Eastern so awesome hummus & tangine but I usually have the salmon & it's incredible.
On the pricier side- New American menu with great cocktails and a sexy atmosphere. I recommend making a reservation.
Great beer hall in the neighborhood. Good for groups or to go and meet people as the tables are long communcal picnic tables
Worth a walk over to get incredible views. Make a right when you enter Manhattan and enjoy the east village scene! It's about a 2 mile walk from here to the end of the bridge so wear sneakers!
