Nice and cozy split house, recently renovated in style with traditional tiles on the rooftop, that sits in a very tranquil location amidst fields, vineyards and woods. It is fully equipped with modern amenities and nicely decorated for a reunion with family or friends. It is not in the middle of nowhere though, rather ideally located in the heart of the golden triangle of the Loire Valley Grands Chateaux: Cheverny, Chambord, Chenonceau. And the Royal City of Blois is only 20min. away by car.

The space
Guests will be stunned by the views from any window of the cottage, over fields, woods, vineyards and ponds. They will love watching the hot air balloons or beautiful peacocks flying over the property; and the sky full of stars on a clear night. They will enjoy dining or sipping a glass of local wine on the patio or in the veranda, with great views all around and spectacular sunsets on the South-West facade. A number of extra features, at no extra costs or hidden fees are offered to guests upon their request: bicycles of all kinds; badminton rackets with a net and a court in the property, a basic set of golf clubs, hammocks, pétanque/bocce bowls, a book and DVD library, CDs, maps and guide books.
To facilitate their vacation planning, a comprehensive info. packet (in English) on things to do in the area, that includes the owner’s selection of local restaurants and wineries, are forwarded to guests way before their arrival.

Location

Chitenay, Centre-Val de Loire, France

Nature lovers will like the unspoiled surrounding views from the property and to be able to walk or bike out from the property and hit the signaled trail "Les Chateaux à vélo" that passes by the cottage. Those who like to swim and have a picnic in a lovely park will truly enjoy the Mont-Près-Chambord natural swimming pool and community park, the largest of its kind in France. Foodies will love shopping at "Le Panier de Vanessa", a gourmet grocery shop in the main street of Fougères (7 min, away fromthe house) and cook in a well equipped kitchen with gourmet utensils; or going-out to so many good restaurants in the immediate vicinity, including a nice "Auberge" in Chitenay center, 5 min away from the house. Wine enthusiasts will have a unique wine-tasting experience of all local wines at "La Maison du Vin" right on the access path to Cheverny Castle (a few minutes away from the house by car), and play golf within the Cheverny Castle Estate park. They will be able to bike to the surrounding villages (Fougères/Bièvre or Chitenay with their great bakeries and restaurants), stopping at local chateaux such as Beauregard, Troussay or Fougères-sur Bièvres.

I am a retired Frenchman, former staff of an international organization based in the Washington D.C.area where I been working and living for the last 30 years. I have visited more than 70 countries, all over the world, either for professional reasons or as a tourist. As the manager of my property in the Loire Valley, I have built-up a reputation of excellence in hospitality over the last 10 years, with more than 150 raving reviews and an average rating of 5.9 out of 6.0 dropped in the most visited Websites for trip advises and vacation rentals. In 2012 and 2013, my rental property have been both awarded a "Top vacation rental" label by travelers on the most visited Website for trips advising. I love music and more specifically opera and Jazz; I also love literature, design and some sports (swimming, badminton, skying, playing tennis when my lower back does not hurt...). And, I am a wine and cheese enthusiast. Cheers!
