The perfect place to stay while we visited nearby family. In a quiet, pleasant residential neighborhood, easy walking distance from wonderful Harvard museums and plenty of restaurants. Bernd was an unobtrusive but helpful and available host. The amenities in the suite were thoughtful--including "pods" for the coffee maker, dishes and a small kitchen area with table, Bose speakers with connection for our electronic devices, excellent towels, and (a must for us) good reading lights everywhere!
The emails provided any necessary background and instructions. The location is easily walkable to Harvard campus and square. Bernd welcomed me to the suite when I arrived and gave me an introduction and quick tour as well. He was very helpful and accommodating. We had a great stay and would be happy to return. Thank you Bernd!
Fabulous for the Schlesinger Researcher! Perfect little hideaway about 15 minute walk from Radcliffe yard, 5 minutes to grocery store, appointed with Keurig, small wine fridge and microwave, all you need to make the most of every work moment. The best part - a claw foot tub for soaking. Hosts have seen to every small detail, lamps all over, nice seating, comfortable bed, sheets so soft I actually looked at the tag to see what brand they were. I look forward to returning!
The host, Bernd, was there when I arrived and was very welcoming. He did a quick run-down of where things were, how things worked etc. There were also printed instructions, maps and information about the area - restaurants and so on. All very helpful.
The unit was as described - nicely decorated and set up. Comfortable bed, lots of hangers in the closet (always a plus!), Wi-Fi, Netflix etc.
I was staying a week so the privacy was really important to me - my own entrance, bathroom, den/kitchen-y area with fridge and coffee maker etc were much appreciated.
There was a minor problem with a 'chirping' smoke alarm and Bernd put that right as soon as I notified him.
I would definitely stay again if I were to return to Cambridge any time and can strongly recommend this place.
The neighborhood was nice and quiet - exactly what I wanted. Nadine was very friendly when I met her, and had provided a list of nearby places in the area that might be of interest (like restaurants!). Even though I was there for one night, it was a great stay!
The apartment is very close to Harvard where we went for graduation. It is within close walking distance to restaurants, coffee shops and transportation. The neighborhood is very lovely and quiet. We felt very safe. Nadine is a wonderful hostess. We had everything we could need for our stay.
About the Host, Nadine And Bernd
We live in a comfortable Victorian House in a quiet neighborhood in the heart of Cambridge, very close to the Harvard campus. I am a Professor of French and my husband a university administrator. We have lived here for decades, but we maintain strong ties to Europe, where our daughters are studying and where we go often to spend time with our families. Bernd's family lives in the Rhine region of Germany and Nadine's in Provence. We love to welcome guests from around the world to our great city.
