Ronan's Cottage is just outside Kinvarra, a pleasant bay-side village with plenty of shops, pubs, a café and a castle. It's a 10 minute walk from the Cottage into the village. The Cottage itself was large, with a kitchen, downstairs seating area and a big bedroom with a double and a single bed. Downstairs wasn't as clean as it could have been but upstairs was very pleasant. Unfortunately we had trouble with the heating and hot water for the first few hours. Ronan solved this when he returned a few hours later - a hidden switch had been flicked prior to our arrival, cause unknown - but this was a shame. Also the single bed was unchanged from the previous guests, and wasn't long enough for the gangly member of our party. Having said this, Ronan was very friendly and it wasn't a wholly negative experience - we enjoyed the eccentric art work in the garden. Thanks for having us to stay, Ronan.
Ronans cottage is in a lovely spot just 1 km outside Kinvarra. The cottage is quite a small space and has a nice rustic feel. There is a stove downstairs for burning logs and you can chop your wood outside. This is a really nice touch as you can warm the room very quickly and it adds to the character of the building. Upstairs you have a double and single bed in the same room. The en suite shower is a nice bathroom space but it is only separated by a curtain.
This was no problem for us as we are all friends and gave each other privacy, but just something to be aware of. The toilet does have a separate door in this bathroom area.
The kitchen has a gas hob, a microwave and a portable oven. You also get a fridge/freezer which is handy.
Kinvarra is a nice little village with some nice pubs for a good pint of Guinness. We spent 2 nights here and it's a good location if you want to get away from everything and just wind down. We mostly played cards here and had fun just socialising in our group. Galway is about 30/40 min drive away and there is good wifi in the house if you can't survive too long without connecting.
We arrive quite late yet Ronan was there waiting and showing us to our apartment. We only stay for one day. It is a comfortable house.
The only downside is the bathroom. It is only separated from the bedroom by curtains. So if you are planning to stay with friends and worried about privacy issues. This may be important features for you to consider.
The cottage is lovely. Ronan welcomed us very briefly and left us the privacy we needed. We only expended one night on the Ronan's Cottage, but it was great. We found the cottage without any problem bacause there is a big indication on the road. The place is very very quiet and it is on the perfect place to visit the Cliffs of Moher or the Glway city.
Ronan is a great host and very polite. The listing was charming and had everything I needed. The surrounding area is absolutely beautiful and I instantly fell in love with Ireland.
We had the best time at Ronan's! He greeted us with a warm welcome even though we arrived quite late. He then kept us company and provided us with some home grown cabbage which was delicious! Lots of laughs and all around a wonderful time. The place was great and very cosy. Would definitely stay here again.

Hey ,I'm Ronan .I am a creative and energetic person. I am all accepting of other peoples beliefs and quirks! This is my third year as an Airbnb host.
So ... My interest in architecture has lead me to travel to places like Greece , Italy and Egypt . This education has inspired much of the garden art, which can be seen at my place. I enjoy wine at the end of the day and I like to cook. I believe in looking at the bright side of life and remaining positive. My dream is finally realized to be able to spend most of my time at home to create a unique living environment. To be totally honest ... I must be a bit crazy... I have all these creative projects that I must complete, .well.... I have designed and built my home to be a peaceful yet imaginative place. I live in another beautiful home which I am building next door. My aim is to give all my visiting guests as much space and privacy as they need . If there is any small thing you require during your stay then please ask ( If I forget then please ask again ).
My " Cottage" listing is a private apartment with one large bedroom with a double and two single beds . Also someone could sleep on the couch downstairs .
My "Guest House" listing is another private apartment and includes 2 twin rooms ( double and single beds ) but if needed /or available, can join up to the Cottage via a corridor and then a third bedroom is accessible.
So...... understand .... I have 2 listings at the moment but it is all the one property , each part being completely private.
Another bedroom with bathroom is available in the gatehouse in the courtyard .
I have a laundry room with washer only but there are plenty places to hang them out to dry.
