Interaction with Guests
We will be happy to help our guests in any way we can.
Aughrim is nestled in the Wicklow hills with beautiful views. The village has a range of shops, and people are very friendly. There is a local fishing pond, golf course, coast and mountains all within easy reach.
It is a perfect place to enjoy Wicklow and the east coast.
Aughrim is easily reached by car from Dublin airport or Roslare Ferry terminal. There are train stations at Rathdrum and Arklow, both 10 mls/16 km away. There are local taxis but no public transport to the village.
Other Things to Note
Wicklow has great amenities. Whether you want to visit one of the beaches, go hill walking or do some local fishing they are all close by.
There is an organic market every Saturday in the village.
Treat our property with the same respect you would show your own home.
Really enjoyed our brief stay with Mary, lovely cosy room with nice shower and very comfy bed! All very laid back and stress free! Easy to find and nice area, Would definitely recommend
We booked Mary's self contained flat for a couple of days over Christmas to act as an "overflow" for guests who we thought might not fit in the large house we rented on the other side of Aughrim. (Family re-union). As it happened we had enough room for everyone at the other house so didn't actually make use of Mary's apartment. I would say though that Mary was great throughout the booking process, and we did see the rooms when we picked up the keys and would have been happy to send some guests there if required.
Lovely Mary kept in contact on our journey and came to meet us in Aughrim Village when we arrived and checked in with us during our stay to ensure that everything was in order.
Our accommodation was just as pictured - a lovely big bedroom with ensuite and a fully equipped kitchen (with an extra bed if we needed it) and a patio with views of the Wicklow Hills.
We stayed for three nights and had breakfast al fresco every morning.
The apartment is part of the main house but is private and is situated in a quiet cul de sac, five minutes walk from the centre of the village.
We were in Aughrim for a wedding at Brooklodge Hotel and our accommodation was very handy indeed. We mentioned it to the Hotel Staff as it may be useful to pass info on when they are fully booked.
We had a fantastic time staying in Mary's apartment. This little spot has everything you need, including a fully equipped kitchen. Mary is a lovely host and was really helpful and friendly!!
The location of this apartment is perfect for exploring the beautiful surroundings of Wicklow. We attended a wedding at Ballybeg house and found it a great base to work from.
Thanks for having us Mary & we wish you all the best.
Emma & Ciaran.
A very pleasant stay at Aughrim! After a long trip trough Ireland we arrived in Aughrim and were welcomed by the owners. We felt right at home, very nice people. When we had a third guest coming over for several days, they immidiatly placed another bed in the living room. Nice people, comfortable and affortable house whith a beautiful view. We were the first to visit and enjoyed our stay.
If we go back to Ireland and the Wicklow area we will surely stay at this place again.
