When you leave the house put of all the lights and the central heating, so no waist of energy.
Because the two stairs the house is not fit for those who cannot walk stairs, for dutch understandings not very steep stairs.
When it is your last day I hope you leave the house the way you found it, tidy and clean.
Ellen's house is so cute and convenient. she is so helpful to know us around Haarlem and everything. Bikes are very useful to enjoy the town. It was great holidays to stay your place, Ellen! we miss your jokes :) thank you so much.
We like staying at Ellen's house very much: she is responsive, kind woman with good sense of humor. She always glad to help us navigate around Haarlem.
We also fond of Haarlem: this town is quite, people there are helpful. Also there are not so many tourists in comparison with Amsterdam.
Ellen's house are bright and cosy. She gave us all household stuff we need.
We hope we'll visit Ellen again as soon as it will be possible:)
Ellen was delightful, warm and welcoming in a very genuine way. She often anticipated our needs before we knew we had them, and we felt sad to have to leave her company on our last day.
We chose Haarlem rather than Amsterdam because it seemed less urban and busy, and that proved true. The apartment is in a nice residential neighborhood, and we could easily walk to the main shopping areas and the train station.
The loft is very bright and comfortable, a single large space with many of Ellen's art pieces on display, and with a separate kitchen and separate bathroom.
We would definitely return to Ellen's loft when we come back to Holland in about a year (we hope).

Ellen, our host, greeted us upon arrival and immediately made us feel very welcomed. The 2 flights of stairs are quite narrow and winding, but Ellen had arranged for a friend to take our luggage up to the loft for us. The accommodations are as described, comfortable and very clean, with many little extra treats provided by Ellen. She provided much useful information and many helpful tips, helped us map out our routes each day, and always checked with us upon our daily return to make sure all was ok. The location is about a 30-minute walk into the old town, but we took a different way each day coming and going...all pleasant and safe.
We felt like friends rather than "renters" with Ellen and enjoyed spending time with her. We were in Haarlem the weekend of the Bulbflower parade and King's Day festivities, with a large fair in the Grote Markt...very lively and noisy...so we were quite glad to be able to participate in the events and then return to the calm of the flat each night.
Ellen is an intelligent and outgoing lady who never invaded our privacy but was always available when we wanted her help. She arranged our transport from her home to Amsterdam dock area, which we greatly appreciated. Our 5-day stay was most enjoyable, Haarlem is enchanting, and Ellen is a wonderful host.
Ellen was such a perfect host. Airbnb has always been a hit or a miss for us, this one by far was amazing! She was very accommodating and I most definitely did not expect complimentary cookies, eggs, milk, cheese, fresh bread and wine etc. in the fridge for us. Which honestly I don't get such things in a hotel! Using their bikes was also a lot of fun and if I ever I come back to Amsterdam I wouldn't mind staying here again!
About the Host, Ellen
Hello, I am Ellen,,, I live in this nice and quiet house built in 1938.
My biggest passion are beads and beading so I can teach you a lot about that, if you are into that.
On the moment I am a designer of special necklaces and other jewelry.
Before 2000, when I had an operation, I had different jobs, and I liked to travel a lot, I even lived on Ibiza for some time, and had my own business there. That is one of the reasons I speak so many languages so well.
But life is more quiet now, the house big enough to be a very good host, as I always am to my friends.
I like to cook, reading books, walking and riding on my bike.
So, a warm welcome for my guests, who want to have a great time in a cosy apartment, situated in an ideal part of Holland to see the Hot Spots of Amsterdam and Haarlem, but also like nature and the beach....I will see to it that you have a great time in my house!
If you want to be on yourself or like to have some advice or any kind of help,,,,,,,,
It is all up to you...
Hope to see you in beautiful Haarlem!
