Interaction with Guests
I will meet you upon arrival and help get you settled in. I can advice about what to see and do during your stay as its important to me that you have a great time! I can be reached by phone and email to answer any queries you might have.
I live on the outskirts of Dublin's fair city , with all the buzz of city life.
I like to go for walks in my neighbourhood. On my walk to the beach, I pass the homes of the rich and famous ie. Bono, the Edge, and Enya's castle!
I have often watched the dolphins playing in the ocean! I love to walk back along the coast which has been compared to The Amalfi Coast of Italy, past more famous homes to the heritage village of Dalkey, with its castle, quaint shops, pubs and restaurants.
Other times I walk to the top of Killiney Hill where there are breath-taking views in all directions towards the city, the port and the ocean. There is a great play area for children too.
Public transport is easy. There are buses into the city centre (30mins away). A nicer way to travel is by the little electric train, known as The Dart, which follows the coast, past Dun Laoghaire port and Sandymount strand.
Dublin is an easy city to get around, either walking or on the "hop on hop off" bus. The list is endless of things to see and do there.
Other Things to Note
If, however, the mountains, the beaches and lakes are your thing, they are within easy reach of my home. Just a few minutes down the motorway and you are in the Wicklow mountains, which is a walkers paradise.
Treat my home as you would yours.....with respect and care!
Great stay at Ann's. Perfect for families. Ann is v helpful and great at making sure you feel at home
I cannot overstate how perfect this house was for me, my sisters, nieces, and spouses -- and what a conscientious and thoughtful host Ann is. We were in Dalkey for a family wedding. The village itself is wonderful, with a craft brew pub and delicious food. The Martello Tower made famous by James Joyce, now a Joyce Museum, is on the sea at the foot of the hill Ann's house is on, a mile or so away. The Dart train going into Dublin up the coast is about half a mile. Ann has all this marked on a map she provides in the house -- a testament to her attention to detail. The kitchen is beautifully equipped, there are plenty of bathrooms, especially by Irish standards, and the bedrooms are absolutely lovely -- comfortable, clean, pretty, without too many frilly decorations. She met us at the appointed time with good humor and friendliness and supplied us with everything we needed. I hope to return some fine day.
Loved Ann's place, it was very homey and convenient for us. The kids loved the play scape that she recommended, and we really enjoyed the back garden and just hanging out and enjoying the quiet pace of the town.
Ann was exceptional. She thought of everything that would make our stay in her home comfortable and welcoming. We arrived earlier then expected. Ann was very understanding and welcomed us. She had even purchased some food items for us so we would have something upon our arrival. Very thoughtful. Ann's home was very clean, beautifully decorated and well equipped. The area was beautiful and provided many opportunities for lovely walks in the late afternoon and evenings. We found great places to eat in the area as well.
Ann was super welcoming and her house is just lovely. We recently returned to Ireland after 15 years abroad and we made to feel right at home by Ann. The house is well maintained and our son loved playing in the secure garden. There were all the modern amenities you'd expect from a house like Ann's in such a nice area and we felt right at home. We'd heartily recommend Ann's home for a
stay when in Dublin.
Really cozy house, snacks in the fridge, everything worked as described and worked perfectly. Very happy with the accommodation and Ann is a great Airbnb host. I would definitely recommend this house to anyone looking for accommodation in this area.

About the Host, Ann
I was an Art and Home Economics teacher, a designer and a homemaker. I've always enjoyed cooking for my family and friends and well as making clothes and furnishings.
Now, as I'm semi-retired, I like to travel and meet new people! I love to explore other parts of Ireland as well as further afield. I enjoy getting to know an area and how local people live and spend their leisure time! I hope that guests who stay in my home enjoy their experiences too!
When not enjoying all the numerous delights that the city has to offer, you will find me walking along the coast road, which has been compared to The Amalfi Coast of Italy, past lots of famous homes to the heritage village of Dalkey, with its quaint shops, pubs and restaurants. Other times I'm at the top of Killiney Hill where there are breath-taking views in all directions of the city and surrounding area as well as the ocean. When not out walking, I travel on the little electric train, known as "The Dart" into the city or out along the coast.
Dublin is an easy city to get around. The list is endless of things to see and do there! However if the mountains and lakes are your thing, they are within easy reach of my home. Just a few mins down the motorway and you are in the Wicklow mountains, which is a walkers paradise and steeped in history.
When I travel to other parts of the world, I prefer to stay in Airbnb places rather than hotels when I can!
