B&B VENEZIA - Corte Vecchia
A neighbour told us that once among the Venetian nobles reigned an unwritten rule of mutual aid whereby, if a woman was left widowed and without substance, she was granted a residence where she could stay with her children and servants, keeping the family lifestyle unchanged.
It seems that our house was among those used for this purpose. We do not know if this is true, but we like to think that there is a story to tell;-)
Concerning us ... we are both architects and our story began when we decided to look for a bigger place to live, determined to remain in Venice, because we simply love its unique atmosphere and lifestyle, and know that these are things we would not find anywhere else.
And so our search began! At one point we found the place of our dreams but it was way too big for us. We kept searching.
But no matter what property we viewed, we kept thinking about that special, quiet, but way too big place, the one that was central but off the beaten track, and yet just around the corner of places like the Accademia, the Guggenheim Museum, the Pinault Gallery, the Salute and livelier places like Campo Santa Margherita.
In the end we came up with an unexpected solution: we could open a B&B. And that's how the 'way too big place' of our dreams was realised.
So if you are looking for a place where you'll be able to experience the authentic side of Venice, then we'll be delighted to welcome you in our home and share some of our life in Venice with you.
As in all true B & B, we owners live in the building, but we designed the space in order to ensure total privacy and comfort both for our guests and for us.
The three bedrooms (two doubles and one single) are equipped with private bathroom, heating, air conditioning, electric kettle, espresso machine, free WiFi, hair drier.
The rich breakfast served in your room is included in the price.
Small pets allowed with prior notice.
About the room CORTE VECCHIA VERDE
The room, distinguished by the green tones, overlooks Rio Tera San Vio through the main façade of the house. The term "Rio Tera," which literally translated from Venetian means "buried canal", entered in the local toponymy to indicate a road built on the site of one of the many canals of Venice, which in this case was a branch of the San Vio canal.
This spacious room will allow you to choose two single beds or one double bed and, if necessary, to add a free cot. Two chairs and a table create a cosy corner to have your breakfast, read or just relax. The bathroom is private and can be accessed from outside the room (it is not en suite).

We had a lovely stay in a beautiful house for a week. We felt almost immediately at home with the gentle welcome of Antonella and Mauro (and sweet little Pia :-). If you want to come to Venice and be close to everything there is to see, and yet stay in a very quiet neighbourhood, come to this place...follow Antonella's advice, grab a pizza at the Zattere, buy yourself a glass of wine and a nice plate of cichetti at San Trovaso, be tempted by a gelato (or several) and enjoy this beautiful part of the city !
The beauty of "normal life" in Dorsoduro which is between two very convenient canal stops, and the elegance of Antonella's description of how they ended up in this lovely house attracted me to the location. We were not disappointed; it was easy to find our night of arrival due to the very clear directions/maps provided, and the rest of the experience blossomed into a sense of comfort and luxury surrounded by art and architecture books, guides, a laptop/printer at our disposal, and a delicious breakfast. The area is very peaceful and friendly, and Antonella's family made it all the more special.
Charming B&B in a great location, very happy indeed!
Corte Vecchia is a lovely B&B! Antonella is very nice and recommended us few places which we really enjoyed. The location is ideal next to Peggy Guggenheim collection. Great place if you want to feel like you are living in the city.
We loved our stay at B&B Corte Vecchia. Antonella and Mauro are the perfect hosts. They prepared a lovely breakfast and advised us some nice restaurants. Our room was clean, cosy and beautifully decorated and the B&B is perfectly located. We definetelly will try to come back for the next biennale.
Antonella's place is extremely nice, clean and confortable. Her house is very wel located, near Academia Ponte and 1 minute on foot from Peggy Guggeheim museum. I'ts far away from all the tourists, in an extremely very nice neighboorhoud. Breakfast is delicious. As many other people, we strongly recommend her place !
We had a really nice time in Venice. Antonellas B&B is very nice and clean. It is a perfect Location, because you are a little bite away from the tourism centre, but you have everything around. You can reach everything in a few minutes by walk. Antonella gave us great suggestions about Restaurants.
Venice is wonderful and so was our stay here. Antonette and Mauro were very nice, they took the time to talk with us and make some recommendations. The breakfast was left on a cart outside our room and we enjoyed it each day. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. We wanted to add two nights and they were booked but they helped us find another place in the same neighborhood. We liked the neighborhood because it was away from all the crowds.
Perfect location - walkable to all the landmarks, but away from the busy tourist center. In-room breakfast and espresso machine were excellent! Clean and very lovely!
Love, love, Loved our stay here. The room was gorgeously decorated with interesting bits and pieces, the photos don't do it justice. Superb, quiet location. Antonella was a fabulous host and very helpful. Breakfast was a feast. We would definitely stay here again.
