The best place to stay in, in the best neighborhood, especially if it's your first time in Mexico city.
There will always be someone (me) to talk to and to give you the best advice regarding your choices and how to move around in the city.
This is a big 50-60s apartment. It's not a new decoration magazine cover place, it's my home, and “my home is your home”. Here you will learn a lot about the local lifestyle. You'll find:
* Antique furniture.
* A very nice interior patio with lots of plants where you can
take a rest.
* Space to do yoga or meditate.
* Organic and healthy cooking.
* Environment friendly lifestyle.
* Lots of feminine energy, handcrafted objects, flowers
everywhere, nice smells and details.
You will have a cozy sunny bedroom for 1 person. Antique furniture, original photos, spanish poetry, some english books and handcrafted details.
There is no parking space and you rather not bring a car, driving around the city can drive you crazy and walking around this neighborhood is sooo nice, you don't want to miss it. Public transportation is so easy, fast and cheap ($3-$6MX), you will love taking advantage of it.
There is no need for elevator because we are at ground level.
There is no need for air conditioning either, because this place is cool, never hot, you'll love arriving here during the summer.
I'm a great host, warm, ecologic, holistic, actively involved in culture, meditation, healing and change. I also speak excellent english.
The fee includes a delicious light organic breakfast. All you need to get started.
I usually serve it around 8.30 - 9.00, if you decide to stay in bed, I may not be here when you get up but I will leave everything set for you.
- Wi-Fi internet connection.
- Washing machine.
- Full equipped kitchen.
- Shared bathroom with shower.
If you should feel in the mood, you can also ask about diverse bodywork and energy holistic therapies.
If you need anything else, I will gladly help you or provide it.
Interaction with Guests
I live and work here, so I will be available most of the time.
I usually serve breakfast at around 8.30 and have mine with you, so we can have a chat and I can help you sort any doubts regarding your plans for the day and give you some tips.
I have several maps and will gladly tell you how to get wherever you want to go.
I love introducing my guests to people and places they might be interested in. If I have an interesting plan, I will surely invite you to come along if you want to.
My priority is setting everything so you feel relaxed and comfortable, just as if you were home.
Located in traditional early 20th century Roma bohemian neighborhood and a few blocks from fashionable 30's Condesa neighborhood.
We are near all sorts of restaurants, coffee shops, bars, stores, bookshops, galleries, fleamarkets and enjoyable places. Very nice to walk around.
This neighborhood is regarded as the mexican Soho.
It's quite safe and enjoyable to walk around even during the night.
Near subway and “metrobus” stations. 15-30 min. away from most museums and downtown. I will give you a card you can use to pay at the subway and metrobus.
Collective transportation is fast and cheap so you may never need a taxi unless it's after 12. If you should ever need a taxi, you can always ask me to call you one.
Finding your way around
I have several very useful maps and, if you need any help, I will always be around to help you figure out the best way to get where you are meaning to go.
Other Things to Note
I will give you a set of keys, a transportation card and maps, so you can come and go as you please.
If you like reading, you may find some interesting books you can read while you are around.
You can have a few cigarettes outside the bedroom but not much because I don't want to have a place that smells like an ashtray.
You can use the kitchen as long as you get all you need and keep it clean.
Please be careful and try not to harm the furniture, towels and linens.
If you should need anything else, please ask me before taking anything that's somewhere in the house.
Please don't invite people to sleep.
The host was very nice, very helpfull, although I almost did no see her because I left early and she was not awake yet.
The room and the house, however, were not my style. Too much noise in the house and definitely too much noise from the street. The windows vibrated with the traffic and I did not sleep weel the days I was in the room. I would not go back there again.
I am very sorry about your experience. Maybe it was due to your schedule, going to bed and getting up early, and the stress to get the most out of such a short stay, when we all (in the building) go to bed late and most get up a lot later than you did. By the time we go to bed the street is quiet and I sleep like a baby although my window is next to yours.
I didn't lie about it, as you can see in the reviews, most people are alright in the same bedroom, maybe another person also said he was a light sleeper who was used to sleeping in the suburbs. Consider you were staying in a neighborhood were a lot of young people live and go back home late. I just checked and there are 45 reviews for this room, 2 maybe 3 mentioned noise.
Definitely this apartment was not a choice for you… You also missed the (several) good things about staying here that all the others enjoyed (as you can tell by their reviews). I swear I didn't pay the other 40 something to write such good reviews.
Anyway, may you find the perfect place to stay while you are working on your project and may it turn out amazingly.
Gracias Eva! Besos desde Rosario!!
a nice quiet room in one of the nicest colonias of the city. ideal for getting everywhere you want easily. certainly a recommendation!
Eva is a lovely host, warm, friendly, and full of great advice. Her home is conveniently located in my favorite neighborhood in Mexico City, near to everything a traveler could possibly want including restaurants, cafes, museums, and public transportation. The space is homey and filled with original artwork. Breakfast every morning is a healthy treat, and she goes out of her way to make sure guests feel welcome and have everything they need. Staying with Eva was the best decision I have made this year! I cannot recommend this host more highly!
Eva is without doubt one of the warmest and most generous hosts I've ever stayed with. She's lived in this neighborhood 16+ years (and Mexico City even longer), and is really embedded in her community and a city she loves. She shares all this and more with you, from beautiful breakfasts made with local produce and her own amazing home-concoctions, to filling you in about local histories and their more recent urban rhythms - which most importantly includes the best places for the best street food on surrounding blocks. The apartment itself is in an amazing location, a really pretty part of Mexico City, surrounded by bars and cafes, parks, ecobici bikeshare (definitely the best way to get around) and just a lovely urban vibe integrating the latest and hip to small family-run businesses. I'm so grateful to her for opening up her home and life in Mexico City to me, it became a really special part of my trip. Thank you Eva, til next time! sure!
I loved sharing with you and your feedback for the community. I am very grateful for all the info you shared with me. Your feedback is very loving and generous.
I still have to send you the info on bodywork in New York and the water kefir info.
Besides, I'm now giving the new guests a better explanation for opening the door from what I learned with the difficulties you had opening the locks.
May your new job be even better than you expected.
Eva is among the nicest and most communicative host I ever had. She was always present and eager to share her knowledge of all attractions and conveniences in Mexico City. Her breakfast has also been an occasion to meet other travelers and know about other places in Mexico. Roma Norte is an old and renewing barrio close to public transportation and restaurants. I liked the place so much that extended my stay.
So thank you very much Eva and if I come back in Mexico City, we will certainly meet again.
I am so lucky to have stayed with Eva while on my research sabbatical in Mexico City. She is kind and wise, and knows everything there is to know about La Roma. Her home is comfortable and relaxing, too. I would recommend her to anyone considering visiting Mexico City. Now that we are friends, I plan to stay with her whenever I visit the city.

I am a creative happy person. I love learning all sorts of new things, communicating good news, connecting people, holistic therapies, wellbeing, nature, dance, walking…
I also love going to new places, walking all the streets, discovering interesting spots. I love the beach and enjoy the sun and the sunsets.
I believe I have to let everyone know life is good and one can make a difference. I always try to walk an extra mile and do what ever I can to make this a better world for everyone.
