The Space

THIS PLACE

The apartment
This is a big 50-60s apartment. It's not a new decoration magazine cover place, it's my home, and “my home is your home”. Here you will learn a lot about the local lifestyle. You'll find:

* Antique furniture.
* A very nice interior patio with lots of plants where you can
take a rest.
* Space to do yoga or meditate.
* Organic and healthy cooking.
* Environment friendly lifestyle.
* Lots of feminine energy, handcrafted objects, flowers
everywhere, nice smells and details.

Your room
You will have a cozy sunny bedroom for 1 person. Antique furniture, original photos, spanish poetry, some english books and handcrafted details.

There is no parking space and you rather not bring a car, driving around the city can drive you crazy and walking around this neighborhood is sooo nice, you don't want to miss it. Public transportation is so easy, fast and cheap ($3-$6MX), you will love taking advantage of it.

There is no need for elevator because we are at ground level.

There is no need for air conditioning either, because this place is cool, never hot, you'll love arriving here during the summer.

THE HOST

I'm a great host, warm, ecologic, holistic, actively involved in culture, meditation, healing and change. I also speak excellent english.

Interaction with Guests

I live and work here, so I will be available most of the time.

I usually serve breakfast at around 8.30 and have mine with you, so we can have a chat and I can help you sort any doubts regarding your plans for the day and give you some tips.

I have several maps and will gladly tell you how to get wherever you want to go.

I love introducing my guests to people and places they might be interested in. If I have an interesting plan, I will surely invite you to come along if you want to.

My priority is setting everything so you feel relaxed and comfortable, just as if you were home.

The Neighborhood

Located in traditional early 20th century Roma bohemian neighborhood and a few blocks from fashionable 30's Condesa neighborhood.

We are near all sorts of restaurants, coffee shops, bars, stores, bookshops, galleries, fleamarkets and enjoyable places. Very nice to walk around.

This neighborhood is regarded as the mexican Soho.

It's quite safe and enjoyable to walk around even during the night.

Getting around

Transportation

Near subway and “metrobus” stations. 15-30 min. away from most museums and downtown. I will give you a card you can use to pay at the subway and metrobus.

Collective transportation is fast and cheap so you may never need a taxi unless it's after 12. If you should ever need a taxi, you can always ask me to call you one.

Finding your way around

I have several very useful maps and, if you need any help, I will always be around to help you figure out the best way to get where you are meaning to go.

Other Things to Note

I will give you a set of keys, a transportation card and maps, so you can come and go as you please.

If you like reading, you may find some interesting books you can read while you are around.

  • I am so lucky to have stayed with Eva while on my research sabbatical in Mexico City. She is kind and wise, and knows everything there is to know about La Roma. Her home is comfortable and relaxing, too. I would recommend her to anyone considering visiting Mexico City. Now that we are friends, I plan to stay with her whenever I visit the city.

  • I've stayed at Eva's apartment for 5 nights, before moving to other long term apartment.
The place is located in an amazing area of the city, the coolest nowadays, Colonia Roma. It is very close to Insurgentes and vital public transportation. Has many nice coffee places and restaurants.
Eva, is a great host, she has an amazing natural ability to make you feel at home. And that's how I felt there during my stay.

Having you around makes me feel quite at ease. If you ever need anything, just ask.

  • Eva is just lovely! I have felt very comfortable and at home in her apartment, which is very conveniently located near two major forms of transport (Metro and MetroBus). Eva knows everything there is to know about this wonderful neighborhood, which is full of beautiful art, good food, and inviting public spaces. Now that I am home I miss Eva and La Roma, and am already planning to return very soon.

    I miss you.

  • Eva is a wonderful host - caring, generous, and just a great person to be around. I really felt at home during my stay. HIghly recommended!

  • Eva fue muy hospitalaria y comprensiva. Me sentí como en casa de verdad. Les recomieno mucho su casa para su próxima estancia en la Colonia Roma

  • I thoroughly enjoyed my stay with Eva. Not only were my mornings filled with delicious food and great company in the form of both my hostess and fellow travelers, Eva was very generous with her time and energy in making sure my stay was fulfilling. The neighborhood had everything I needed and was very central to a lot of the more tourist barrios. I highly recommend Eva and her central apartment!

  • Eva was one of the most wonderful hosts I've had on airbnb so far and I've had some incredible experiences. From the moment I arrived to when I left (which was one day early because of my flight error) she showered me with knowledge of Mexico City and other issues about art and feminism that we had in common.

She made a delicious breakfast every day that was to my celiac needs, including delicious coffee. The place is just as shown, but perhaps even more wonderful.

When I left she left me with a book and help for the extra night I was unable to stay.

If I come back to DF, I will hope her place will be available. I recommend her place to everyone.

    Response from Eva:

I really enjoyed sharing with you. There are still many things we can share in the future. I will truly love to have you back soon. Looking forward to meet you again. In the meantime, I hope you love the book.

  • Well, what can we say about Eva that hasn't been said, it is all quite true. There are some special people around who we are sometimes lucky enough to encounter and she is one of them!

We loved her home, her neighborhood, her breakfasts, her advice, her kindness and her spirit.

Thank you again Eva for a sweet introduction to a vibrant and tough city! If you are heading to the DF, she is the one to look for! N&J
