Hestia House - Your home away from home
Hestia is the ancient Greek goddess of the hearth, architecture, and of the right ordering of domesticity and the family.

Located on the second floor of an historical 1940's building, the charming 4-bedroom apartment boasts the following:

- a spacious rooftop deck with barbecue and deck furniture
- large kitchen with brand new appliances, double sink and all cooking implements
- recently upgraded 4-piece bathroom
- sizable dining/common area with table, chairs, bookcases, lounge area and uniquely styled buffet & hutch
- hardwood or carpet and updated fixtures
- skylight & updated lighting
- artistic touches and one-of-a-kind art throughout
- updated fire & safety features
- Bedrooms are equipped with fans but no air conditioning, however best efforts are made to keep the rooms comfortable

Your private room (1 of 3 rentals at the property) is located towards the front of the apartment, with a large window to catch the breeze. It's on the shady side of the property, and makes for excellent sleeping. Decorated with woods, and soft natural tones you'll feel like you're sleeping in the bows of trees surrounding a beautiful forest glade.

A comfortable queen bed outfitted with fresh linens and pillows and a small desk are there for your comfort. The bed has recently been upgraded to a wonderful memory foam mattress and includes complete allergen & bedbug protection. Wireless internet and the common areas are at your disposal during your stay. There is also a sizable closet and dresser to store your clothes during your stay. Towels are included.

Prior to your visit, I will provide you with my unique Hestia House guide to the city - this guide includes my recommendations on where to eat, get a drink, see a show and more! These are my recommendations and you won't find this information in any published guide!

I love hosting guests from all over the world, so if you have a question about the area or even want some company, just ask!

I love my home, and I hope you will too.

Situated in the heart of the trendy Junction area, the apartment is perched above a quiet storefront and easily accessible by public transit or by car. There is a bus stop 2 doors down, $2 per night public parking for your car, and easy access to major highways and Toronto's Pearson Airport.

A 5-minute bus ride takes you to the metro station (or a 10 minute walk), and it's only 20 minutes into the downtown core of Toronto.

The Junction is one of Toronto's most vibrant communities, featuring a wide selection of restaurants, bars, bistros, shopping and coffee shops in a friendly environment. Remove yourself from the hustle and bustle of downtown and relax at one of the fine Junction establishments in the evening, or take a 15 minute walk to the beautiful High Park or Bloor West Village; another great shopping & culture spot in Toronto.

There is a real sense of community here and everything is so convenient!

The location scores an impressive 93 out of 100 "Walker's Paradise" on the walkability score on (website hidden).

Lisa, a native of the Toronto area possesses a distinct zest for life, enjoying good food, wine and entertainment.

As your host, feel free to reach out to Lisa for recommendations on cool things to see and do in the city from a local's perspective. Special discounts to local services and attractions are also available, just ask!

Luna is Hestia House's friendly black cat. Surprisingly quiet and affectionate she is the official greeter and loves to meet new people. Don’t worry, your room is off-limits to her!

  • I stayed with Lisa for 3 months and had an amazing time. Lisa is a wonderful hostess and we became friends during my stay. It’s thanks to her that I felt at home in Toronto right from the beginning. She is an easygoing, fun and thoughtful person and she has a lovely cat named Luna. Her apartment is great; it is spacious, quiet and clean and has a very nice patio. The room and the kitchen are well equipped and if I needed something Lisa was always very helpful. The neighborhood is awesome; there are many nice little shops and restaurants around and it does not take long to get downtown. Altogether I am very happy with my stay at this place and I can totally recommend it to everyone coming to Toronto for a shorter or longer stay. Thank you Lisa! Hope to see you again soon!

Full-time Host, Style Coach
I am a professional host and SuperHost in Toronto. Not long ago I was featured in a New York Times article (July 25, 2011) for my hosting work & success with Airbnb! After that, I worked for Airbnb as a Host Success Manager, and now I am switching my focus towards full-time hosting with my partner and best friend Monica. Together we operate H&P Properties, which handles the two full apartment rentals you see on this site. I also work on the side as a style coach. Yay fashion! I really love hosting on Airbnb because of all the great people I get to meet. I love sharing my Canadian culture and the city of Toronto with them, and I love hearing about their world even more :) I've done a lot of traveling and love meeting new and interesting people. My experiences hosting on Airbnb so far have been great! I love to read, shop, roller skate, make jewelery, cook, bake and travel, of course! I have a spunky kitty cat named Luna that keeps me company here. She's super-friendly feline and loves my Airbnb guests as much as I do.
