There is a CD player, a well stocked library and Wi Fi as well as a taxi rank, guarded parking nearby and many local shops.
Airport transfers are arranged, and the helpful house manager will give advice on all aspects of the city as well as booking excursions, official guides, spas and Hammams as well as restaurants etc.
Massages and special meals with musicians and dancers can be booked for parties and celebrations.
The whole riad can be booked for families and groups or by the room.

New guests can only use their rooms after 12 noon on the first day but early guests will be offered breakfast and can use the facilities of the riad while they wait for their rooms. On the last day, rooms must be vacated by 11am but guests with late flights can stay at the riad with their luggage placed in a secure place.
There is no smoking in any room but smoking is allowed in the courtyard and on the roof terrace.
We really enjoyed our stay. The riad is really beautiful, the rooms are very spacious and especially the rooftop terrace is great and has a nice view. The staff is really friendly and welcoming and even made sure that we didn't get lost in the medina. We would love to come back! Thanks Carol!
This review may not be of great use, since Alan and Kate were about to sell their wonderful Marrakech riad when we had the pleasure to be their guests. Still - it was a nice experience throughout. Alan and Kate have been very helpful, given good advice and even offered us (as a family with smaller children) an additional room for free so that one of the parents could relax - which we ended up not using. The interior style of their riad displayed excellent taste and added to our nice holiday feeling.
We should also not forget the excellent work of all the Moroccan staff, from small Rashid to tall Rashid, with all their kindness and dedication.
Strong recommendation (if you're lucky enough to still get to this place).
Our stay here was absolutely wonderful! We immediately felt welcome and comfortable in this adorable riad. The staff were truly awesome, going well above and beyond our expectations. They accommodated us in everything we wanted to do, and were genuinely happy to help. Their kindness really made our entire Marrakech experience great. We enjoyed an amazing traditional Moroccan dinner at the riad, prepared from scratch by the lovely ladies of the house (not to mention delicious breakfast and tea daily). The house manager guided us to Jemaa el-Fnaa, pointing out landmarks and teaching us to navigate. He also arranged excursions for us, which made everything more secure and enjoyable. I would go back in a heartbeat and definitely recommend it to all!
What a wonderful place! We loved this riad ... a quiet oasis in a perfect location. The two Rachids helped us to find our way in the medina and back on the road when we were leaving. The friendly ladys took good care of the house and arranged a very good breakfast. The owner Alan told us about the history of the riad and at night the candles in the courtyard were lightened for an amazing atmosphere. We also enjoyed the tea at the beautiful terras and the evenings at the fireplace. Omar took us on a tour with his privat taxi to some important places in Marrakesh, what was very helpful. We stayed in the riad with our little baby ... a travelcot was arranged and we could use the kitchen for his food. We can highly recommend this place!
Dear Alan & Kate,
We enjoyed every moment of our staying in the Riad Merstane.
The service and support was perfect, cleaning every day in our rooms, we've got delicious English breakfast every day, like as in a five star hotel. It was very exciting to discover Medina's places and return back to this peaceful place. Rashid was waiting us every day with hot mint tee and fire in the fireplace.
We'll return to Marrakesh in the future and highly recommend the Merstane Riad for everybody.

We had a wonderful time at Riad Merstane. The Riad is beautiful, has a great terace and cosy rooms. The staff was very kind and gave us great advice on places to go. Friends recommended us this place and we'll definitely do so!
It was good to meet you and your girlfriend. Thank you for your kind comments about the riad and the staff. We are lucky with our staff, they are always friendly and efficient; certainly an asset to the riad. If you're planning another short trip to Marrakech, it would be great to see you again. About the Host, Carol
Hi - we're Alan and Kate Elliott and fell in love with Marrakech 12 years ago when we bought and restored our beautiful riad. We enjoy helping other people to experience exotic Marrakech with it's hidden riads, winding lanes and warm and welcoming people and we especially love the mix of traditional and contemporary in the city.
Our staff also love to share their city with guests and nothing is too much troub le for them.
Come and experience this fascinating city and culture for yourselves
