Our stay here was absolutely wonderful! We immediately felt welcome and comfortable in this adorable riad. The staff were truly awesome, going well above and beyond our expectations. They accommodated us in everything we wanted to do, and were genuinely happy to help. Their kindness really made our entire Marrakech experience great. We enjoyed an amazing traditional Moroccan dinner at the riad, prepared from scratch by the lovely ladies of the house (not to mention delicious breakfast and tea daily). The house manager guided us to Jemaa el-Fnaa, pointing out landmarks and teaching us to navigate. He also arranged excursions for us, which made everything more secure and enjoyable. I would go back in a heartbeat and definitely recommend it to all!
What a wonderful place! We loved this riad ... a quiet oasis in a perfect location. The two Rachids helped us to find our way in the medina and back on the road when we were leaving. The friendly ladys took good care of the house and arranged a very good breakfast. The owner Alan told us about the history of the riad and at night the candles in the courtyard were lightened for an amazing atmosphere. We also enjoyed the tea at the beautiful terras and the evenings at the fireplace. Omar took us on a tour with his privat taxi to some important places in Marrakesh, what was very helpful. We stayed in the riad with our little baby ... a travelcot was arranged and we could use the kitchen for his food. We can highly recommend this place!
Dear Alan & Kate,
We enjoyed every moment of our staying in the Riad Merstane.
The service and support was perfect, cleaning every day in our rooms, we've got delicious English breakfast every day, like as in a five star hotel. It was very exciting to discover Medina's places and return back to this peaceful place. Rashid was waiting us every day with hot mint tee and fire in the fireplace.
We'll return to Marrakesh in the future and highly recommend the Merstane Riad for everybody.

We had a wonderful time at Riad Merstane. The Riad is beautiful, has a great terace and cosy rooms. The staff was very kind and gave us great advice on places to go. Friends recommended us this place and we'll definitely do so!
It was good to meet you and your girlfriend. Thank you for your kind comments about the riad and the staff. We are lucky with our staff, they are always friendly and efficient; certainly an asset to the riad. If you're planning another short trip to Marrakech, it would be great to see you again. Alan & Kate
Our time in Marrakech was just magical. We (Four women) felt safe at all times.
Allan and Kate were already very helpful before our trip and answered all our questions.
The riad is just beautiful and very peaceful. The whole team made our stay very pleasant. We especially enjoyed having breakfast and tea at the roof terrace in the sun. Rachis was very helpful, showed us around and assists us with booking restaurants, trips and a hammam visit.
We would definitely come back.
Thank you very much for the unforgettable time.
Everything was absolutely amazing. The Riad is beautiful, organised, safe, and welcoming. My friends and I were warmly welcomed by Rashid, who checked on us everyday and took us all around Marrakech. They provided us all the information we needed and their food is incredible. Our experience was incredible and I would recommend this place to everyone I know. Special thanks for Rashid!
We have passed on your special thanks to Rachid and are about to sample yet again some of Rashida's delicious cooking (sardine tagine). We want to take her back to England with us! You'll be glad to hear that it has stopped raining but we are still waiting for the Sun. But when you visit again, we will make sure that the Sun is waiting for you!
great place to stay. rachid(s) and team were on hand for everything we needed, and nothing was too much to ask. we stayed in lavender room, which was ample size and beautifully done out. 20mins walk from main square or 20 dirhams in a cab (after the obligatory haggle). tasty breakfast and the would recommend eating a typical morrocan dish there too - the home cooking is great. there's great street food available 5 mins away from bab taghzoute, or a lovely restaurant called limoni for something more upmarket.
cant wait to go back in the spring!

Hi - we're Alan and Kate Elliott and fell in love with Marrakech 12 years ago when we bought and restored our beautiful riad. We enjoy helping other people to experience exotic Marrakech with it's hidden riads, winding lanes and warm and welcoming people and we especially love the mix of traditional and contemporary in the city.
Our staff also love to share their city with guests and nothing is too much troub le for them.
Come and experience this fascinating city and culture for yourselves
