Our 2 night stay at Riad Merstane was a great pleasure. The Riad itself is a wonderful living space, full of atmosphere and character but also clean and comfortable with aircon where needed. It is extremely quiet and secluded, an oasis in the hubbub of Marrakech Medina; we had the best of both worlds. Carol, Rachid and Rachid were delightful and attentive hosts. Breakfast in the Riad courtyard was something sweet to look forward to each morning.
It was a beautiful Riad with comfortable rooms and facilities, and a particularly lovely terrace overlooking Marrakech. A great place to escape the heat and bustle of the city. Carole is a very warm, welcoming and friendly host despite our poor french efforts. We would recommend this Riad as a great place to stay in Marrakech.
The Cooch Family
A wonderful place to stay, hidden away in the medina. We were made so welcome and Rachid, Rachid and Carol couldn't have been more helpful. Candles were lit in the courtyard on our return in the evening making for a magical atmosphere. Breakfast was splendid and I am happy to recommend this peaceful oasis in the bustling, dusty heat of Marrakech.
Really beautiful riad. Slightly far from the main square (Jamma El Fnaa), but very possible to walk. We got slightly lost on our way back despite the map we were given, but it was not difficult to keep asking the locals for directions to the main street it is located near to. Just be careful of who you ask on the street lest you meet one of the many unofficial "guides" around the medina. This however also means that it's in a more peaceful and residential part of the medina. The riad was really quiet and cool - a refreshing respite from the crazy bustle of Marrakech. Everything was really comfortable and the whole space of the riad was just really cosy and lovely to chill. Memorable way to spend our last night in Marrakech and Morocco.
Both Rachids were very friendly and accommodating. We left very early in the morning to catch our flight but we still had a yummy breakfast prepared for us. Thank you for the lovely stay!
We really enjoyed our stay. The riad is really beautiful, the rooms are very spacious and especially the rooftop terrace is great and has a nice view. The staff is really friendly and welcoming and even made sure that we didn't get lost in the medina. We would love to come back! Thanks Carol!
Hi Carol, Merci! Our time in your Riad was memorable and inspirational and fun. We miss your hospitality and the service of your staff. The breakfast was elaborate and filling. Thank you once again. ~ Balaji.

About the Host, Carol
Hi - we're Alan and Kate Elliott and fell in love with Marrakech 12 years ago when we bought and restored our beautiful riad. We enjoy helping other people to experience exotic Marrakech with it's hidden riads, winding lanes and warm and welcoming people and we especially love the mix of traditional and contemporary in the city.
Our staff also love to share their city with guests and nothing is too much troub le for them.
Come and experience this fascinating city and culture for yourselves
