About This Listing
The apartement is an old factory refurbished into housing. It's a spacious loftwith a well equipped kitchen and a comfortable bathroom. It has one bedroom with two large windows with light in the morning with curtains.
There is a sort of balcony / terrace which will be soon equipped with a nice table and chairs. There a common terrace accessible and common garden downstairs. BBQ possible.
It's near "les abbatoir d'Anderlecht", the slaughter house with culturel events, daily market with delicatessen and regional products. The sunday morning, there is the biggest market of Belgium with an amazing choice of fresh produce from around the world. Also close are "Les Marolles" with the famous flea market.
One great thing is that it is close to the Gare du Midi with direct access to Eurostar to the UK, Thalys to NL, France and Germany.
You can rent a bike, take the subway to reach the heart of the city, and use the car sharing facility.
There is also a parking space available for my guests.
* Food is Do It Yourself. One is free to take all the ingredients in the fridge.
* The cat can't feed herself so needs a bit of assistance.
* Free car park on the place downstairs
* This is my own home, please enjoy and return it as clean as you like to find it.
Amazing flat just as described. Located virtually by the station and within just over 10 minutes walk to the centre, this place is a true jewellery. Thanks very much Ben!
A great flat, perfect location and although we didn't meet Ben (he was away so his very hospitable neighbour let us in) he provided a great AirBnB experience. Would definitely recommend.
The apartment was great. If you're coming in from the Eurostar, the apartment can't be beat. Beautiful apartment, nice size and great setup. The host is a nice and honest guy, and although we had our differences over a few issues, I'd recommend his place. Great value. However, if animals or cats aren't your thing, I wouldn't recommend it.
Overall, I enjoyed it. Nice place, great location and the host is genuinely a good person.
I chose the Ben's apartment because of convenient location,it's very close to Gare du Midi. The apartment is large and very quite, all windows and balcony overlook the courtyard. Ben's cat is friendly and we had not any trouble with it.
Ben and his girlfriend were friendly and accommodating hosts. The apartment is only a few minutes walk from a well connected station which was good for seeing most of the sights in two days! The place is great and the cat is friendly. No problems recommending this for your stay.
Ben was such a nice guy, he really went above and beyond by providing us with recommendations and even a coupon book for restaurants. His apartment was comfortable enough for our 1 night stay but I did have a few complaints. This apartment is definitely very lived in and messy. The hamper was full of dirty clothes, there was food stuck in the sink, it didn't smell very good and generally stuff was out everywhere. I didn't find the apartment to be very clean at all. I saw Ben change the duvet cover but when we went to sleep that night, the fitted sheet on the bed was definitely not clean. The neighborhood was ok, I never felt unsafe but it really wasn't a very nice neighborhood but it was very close to the train station. Ben has a very nice cat but the apartment smelled like kitty litter and the cat bothered us while we were trying to sleep. I really don't want to say a lot of negative things because Ben was one of the nicest guys I've ever met but this apartment is far from clean by anyone's standards. I was glad to have a place to stay in Brussels but I'm very disappointed in the cleanliness of the apartment especially since I know we paid a cleaning fee...I have no idea what that money went to. The actual apartment was so beautiful and the wood floors and exposed brick were amazing! Ben was helpful with meeting up with us at the train station, I really couldn't have asked for a nicer, more accommodating host!
