Our beautiful roundhouse is a large straw bale retreat situated in your own private woods. Perfect for a unique tranquil getaway. The sun streams into the roundhouse, and for cooler days the roaring wood burner keeps you cosy. A campfire is set up for some outdoor cooking.
The roundhouse is nestled in the heart of west Penwith in the hamlet of kerris on the edge of our farm up a quiet country lane. It is within easy reach of many popular locations, stunning beaches, coves, and costal paths.

The space
The Roundhouse is a spacious, 10 metres diameter, light open plan living space. it is built with a wooden structure and strawbales, covered in cobb. The space has a comfortable lounge area with woodburner for cosy evenings and cooler days. The bed is a comfortable Superking with luxurious Emma mattress. There is electricity and a fully functioning kitchen with cooker and fridge, there is a sink with a small boiler providing hot water.
There is outdoor furniture and a campfire set up with sheep skins and garden furniture with large kettle and dutch oven for a fun evening of outdoor cooking. There is a hammock for you to while away some peaceful time watching the leaves move in breezes and listen to the beautiful birdsong.
There is plenty of wildlife, badgers, rabbits, owls, and buzzards.
Please note that there is no wifi or tv but there is electricity many sockets and good 3/4G. So a real chance to get away from it all and enjoy some peace.
There is a compost loo, “a tree bog” and a shower imbedded amongst the trees for your sole use. The shower is a hot water gas shower.
There is private entrance to the woods from the road where you can park your car.

The roundhouse is up a quite country lane, set in its own woodland within our 6 acres of meadows there are 2 woodlands. Kerris is a tiny hamlet. We are rural for those seeking peace and tranquility, but within easy reach of many popular locations, stunning beaches, coves, and coastal paths. There are wild rabbits and buzzards that fly directly above you, and the sound of the owls is enchanting.

Mousehole a very beautiful popular fishing village is 2 miles away and a lovely 40 minute walk away. There are a wide variety of places to eat and relax from poolside cafes to delicious restaurants. There are some lovely art galleries, and mousehole is glorious at christmas with its famous christmas lights.

The stunning beaches of Sennen, Porthcurno, and the coves of Penberth (as used in Poldark) and Porthgwarra are all worth a short drive to. As is the train ride into St ives which is famous for its light and artists communities. There is the Tate and the Barabara Hepworth museums which are well worth a visit.

The famous Minack open area theatre is worth booking, for a dramatic evening sat on the cliff edge watching a show.

Hi I have lived in Cornwall for 15 years with my husband mike and 2 daughters Lola (10) and Florence (6). I am a primary school teacher but when Florence was born I decided to follow my dream and become an artist full time. I work in mosaic and textiles. Mike was a Dr who followed his heart to becoming a sculptor many years ago, he makes beautiful moving sculptures. We all love Living at the farm it's such fun like our theme park. A lot of space to enjoy ourselves and with others. We have our workshops on site too so our commute is lovely!! We adore living in West Penwith we love the drama of the coast ever changing and so stunning. The people are wonderful it is kind peaceful and beautiful.
