At an altitude of 2,200+ feet, this true "mountain top" home features expansive views of the Shenandoah Valley, Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah River, and the town of Luray below. Updated interior as of July 2019. Cell phone service and newly improved wifi.

The space
At an altitude of 2,200+ feet, this true "mountain top" home features expansive views of the Shenandoah Valley, Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah River, and the town of Luray below. Modern amenities: wifi and full cell phone service.

Enjoy the views from two decks with rocking chairs and table/chairs for dining. It's the perfect place to relax and take in the beauty of the area.

Besides the views, the star of the home is the grand fireplace made from local stone. The stone fireplace is the focal point of this open concept home, which features tons of large windows and skylights.

This unique home accommodates up to 6 guests with one queen bed, one full bed, and one full sleeper sofa. All linens included.

Beyond the spacious dining and living rooms, you'll find the great room with cathedral ceilings, windows all around, and direct access to two of the decks. From the sleeper sofa in the great room, enjoy looking at the stars as you fall asleep and taking in the sunrise as you wake up.

There are two grills - a charcoal grill and gas grill. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to create your favorite gourmet meal.

Firewood is provided from October 1 - March 31 if you would like to use the fireplace. Electric heat is available as well.

Guest access
Guests have access to the entire house. Guests cannot access the locked storage area below the house.

There is wifi and Apple TV for guest use. The TV has a DVD player, but no cable. A large assortment of DVDs is provided, but feel free to bring your own. There are also lots of card and board games for all ages - kids and adults.

Other things to note
I can make suggestions for companies in the area that offer various activities including canoeing, horseback riding, ATV's, and many other outdoor activities.

All wheel or 4 wheel drive strongly suggested when snow or bad weather is expected. The last ¼ mile is a gravel road (private driveway).

Mountain Top Getaway is a licensed rental. Nightly rate includes state and county lodging taxes.

There is no water source on the mountain so water is delivered. Please understand I must know the number of guests so I can plan the water deliveries accordingly. Thank you!

I was born and raised in Washington, DC, spending many of my childhood weekends in Luray, VA. I've been going to Luray since I was born and most of my dad's family is still in that area. I want to give others the chance to have memorable experiences at the home that has given me so many of my own. It's a truly special place and I sincerely hope you will feel the same way after staying there. I also host in two listings here in DC.
