The Space

This is a custom remodeled 27 foot Airstream set in a beautiful wooded back yard just 3 1/2 miles east of the captiol. The airstream sits on the highest crest in East Austin with a wide view of the valley below. This RV has been remodeled with handmade furniture to feature the beautiful curves of the walls giving it a cozy and spacious feeling. The Rv has AC and heat and features a full size desk, California King Tempeurpedic Bed, and a Full Service Kitchen with sink, coffee maker, burner, toaster oven and refridgerator, plus if you need something that isn't there just ask; I probably have it.

The airstream sits in my backyard which is very secluded and quiet. It features a composting toilet and there is full access to a shared bathroom just inside the house, as well as a beautiful backyard shower and clawfoot bathtub with hot water.

I am a massage therapist and facialist and have an in-home studio. I am happy to offer discounted rates for my guests so just ask. I also offer an herbal bath treatment in the open beauty of the outdoor tub.

There are several restaurants within walking distance. The bus line is close by and easy to use. Look up Metro's Go Line for information before going to catch the bus from Crest Ave-my street.

I have a couple of bicycles you are welcome to borrow with a deposit. There are bike lanes from my home to downtown which is a 15 minute ride. There is also plenty of space for parking right in front of the house if you have a car. This is the best side of town for avoiding traffic both coming and going, easy-in, easy-out.

The cottage is located in a neighborhood of artists, business owners and old neighborhood folks - its in the process of gentrifying which makes the neighborhood economically diverse.
Come experience the Austin East Side.

  • Amaaaaziiiing...thank you so much Deborah for having such a lovely and peaceful space. Deborah was a great host following and making sure we were happy...she was very attentive and everything in the space was easy to find and live with. I came back to Puerto Rico with a huge smile thanks for the lovely and beautiful place.

  • Deborah wasn't on site, but made sure everything was set up for us! Beautiful little area she has, and plenty close to downtown!

  • My husband, my 9-month-old daughter and I stayed in Deborah's airstream for three nights. We were sad to leave. Time stops when you are there. The airstream was perfect for us: cosy, with all comforts and surprisingly spacious. All spaces are perfectly arranged with a very personal and original touch. I was pleased to see the large choice of coffee machines: french press, american coffee maker, Italian moka. Everything shows a sensitive and attentive care for guests. No problem to share the bathroom,. The best part is the patio and the garden. We enjoyed the beautiful view, the nice breeze, the cat's company, the bath tub. The last night a thunderstorm sang us a lullaby. Deborah has been very patient, flexible and loving with us before, during and after our stay. Unfortunately, we weren't able to meet her, but at least we had her new released CD in the player ;) ! Great recs, maps, books and few Cds inside the airstream.

  • We arrived late and Deborah met us to show us around the Airstream. It was really great that she had the time to come over there. For our entire visit in late April, it was a perfect temperature with all the windows open for the breeze. We ended up having problems with the allergies, but that is a problem even with locals there. We had never visited Austin or Texas. We explored the city on Deborah's bikes. It was great that they were available. We had to adjust the seats for our size. The bikes were meant for shorter people, but they were in good condition. It did not take very long to get around via. bike. I liked the secluded-feeling of the location but not actually being far from town.

We had no problem sharing the bathroom with the person in the house. Overall, a good experience.

  • I had a terrific stay in Deborah's Airstream. Deborah was a thoughtful and responsive host. The yard is secluded and verdant. The Airstream was well-kept and comfortable. The whole experience has me considering getting an Airstream for my own back yard.

  • This is a great place to stay! It is a beautiful oasis in the middle of Austin. The RV is beautifully decorated, it is very comfortable and has everything you could need during your stay. The neighborhood it is located in is quite and peaceful. It is centrally located and it was easy for us to get around town from here.

I wish it had been warmer during our stay so that I could have enjoyed the outdoor tub. I also wish I had made more time to spend at the property as it was very tranquil and soothing, so a nice place to chill and relax.

The shared bathroom with the cottage worked great. There are little amenities available in the bathroom and the RV and they came in handy when I realized I had forgotten to pack a few items.

  • A charming and comfortable retreat, perched above the city while not that far away. The Airstream itself is surprisingly spacious - we weren't stepping on each other's toes at all - and has all mod cons.

  • My partner and I stayed in the Airstream for just 2 nights, and we were sad it couldn't have been longer so we've made a pact to go back. The airstream & backyard is as adorable and quirky as the pictures lead it to be, but the view is far far better. The bed is huge and comfortable and the airstream is stocked with everything you might need. The bathroom situation can be a bit awkward at first but it's all worth it and sort of adds to the feeling of staying in an RV and "camping out". I took an outdoor shower on a beautiful morning and the breeze combined with the stunning view made for an incredible experience. I swear, it changed my life. I sadly didn't get to meet Deborah, but I spoke with her on the phone and she was so sweet and I'm so grateful to her for creating such a beautiful space and letting us stay there.

I find myself living outside of our industrial complex often enough where I have time, space and peace in my life. I seem to live an abundant life where I am so thankful for all my silly creative friends, amazing healthy food to eat, time to play and create, and a job that makes sense to me. I am amazed at everything that grows. I love to walk in the rain. I don't mind running into snakes. I have lived many lives. A mother and wife of 18 years, lived on a community I started in South austin raising farm animals and vegetables with some of my friends and now living on the east central side of town enjoying Austin Life while I work as a massage therapist and facialist out of a studio in my home. I also work in a Aveda Salon in North Austin. I am a creative/nuturer type. Prefer to play music or spend time with people, animals or plants.
