The condo was in a great location. You're able to walk right out of the condo gate and onto the beach. It was close to the things we wanted to see such as the USS Lexington and the state aquarium. The only drawback we had which wasn't a huge deal was the wifi was not working and when we let our host know, it was not fixed. The tv was also broken but again we only used it at night ao we were able to manage. Overall I would recommend this condo to other guest as our overall experience was great.

The condo was perfectly located for walking to the beach and enjoying the Aquarium and museums nearby. The kitchen and bathroom were also clean and beautifully updated. Our boys especially loved the hallway bunk beds, and the vintage mattresses were covered in plastic giving this mom peace of mind, as well. The wifi was out during our stay which was inconvenient for entertainment purposes but not critical since we didn't plan to work while in town. Overall, its an easy access, no frills, beach condo that worked out fine for our family of four!

I hate to leave a negative review, but we were overall not really satisfied with the condo we rented. Upon opening the door we were greeted with the smell of mildew and urine. The giant air freshener placed in the entry wall was not enough to mask the smell. The mattresses on the bunkbeds are probably 30 years old and have no protective covering on them. I felt I needed gloves and a mask to put the linens on myself. I hated making my kids sleep there, but there was no choice. The urine smell was in the main bedroom as well. I have no idea where it was coming from, I did not want to investigate. The bathroom was not that clean, and the rusted out rod and shower curtain only covered about three quarters of the length of the shower. The kitchen and living room were fine, the TV worked. We did not do any cooking in the kitchen, did not use any dishes either. The main set of lights and fan in the living room did not work at all. I did not want to spend my vacation dealing with contacting the host as well as maintenance on the property to resolve this issue... It probably could have been resolved. It was not that big of a deal to me, we just turned on a fan in the living room. But just know they did not work upon arrival... I felt they should have. Nice view of the beach during the day and night. Decks are close together and you can see people right next to you and all around. My kids had fun watching seagulls fly right by us at eye level on the balcony. The beach is kind of dirty and has lots of broken shells. Lots and lots of jellyfish, each of my kids were stung multiple times. If we come back to South Texas, we will definitely try to find a different beach. My kids don't really know many beaches, so they had fun. We did enjoy the proximity to the USS Lexington and the Texas State Aquarium. The Lexington was the highlight of our trip. This condo wouldn't take much to be nicer, mostly new mattresses and nice new linens for the bunk beds, a bunch of bleach and new housekeepers or something. We did appreciate the gift basket on our bed from Chris. If I use airbnb again, it will be with someone who owns one property and oversees the maintenance and cleaning personally.

Everything about our experience was really great. The condo was small, but very clean and stocked with necessities. The beach is a very short walk from the unit which was perfect. From reading previous posts I was worried about bugs, but we didn't see any. I would definitely stay again.
