Enter the 4' wide tiger oak, carved front door with an antique bit key & find yourself in the foyer which opens to the kitchen, and a large open living room. Three sets of sliding glass doors make up the back wall. Light and nature pour in! A mix of antique, modern & bespoke furniture rests on pine floors. Expect the cracks, creaks, & patina that age brings! There are interesting books, shells, crystals, rocks, sea glass and (not too) many curios from the owners travels. Make yourself at home!

The space
Located just off Hwy 48 (AL 117) in a neighborhood, this 103 year old, secluded, 5-bd house, high atop Lookout Mountain, is between Summerville, GA and Mentone, AL. The grounds have large trees, areas of lawn, areas of wild, flower beds, & an old chicken coop, and there's a circular gravel drive. The Spruce is the largest bedroom painted a royal deep purple. It is upstairs and has a private bath with large shower, a private balcony with bistro table and two chairs, and has a queen bed and a twin. There is a table and chair in the room as well. Be advised the fire escape for the upstairs is off this porch-in an emergency others can access it from the balcony which connects to the Maple balcony. There is a latch to open the balcony to the fire escape. Children (and adults with climbing proclivities) need to be supervised!

Guest access
You're welcome to enjoy the foyer, living room, kitchen as well as the porches, terrace, and grounds. Spruce is one of five rentals at Mountain Grove. Please keep in mind guests may be coming to rent the other rooms, so please keep common areas neat.

During your stay
We come and go. Someone is always available by phone, text or email and nearby to make dinner reservations for you or help if needed.

Other things to note
Our home is wonderfully old! Please expect to find age spots, stains, cracks and creaks (and septic friendly bath tissue!) In spite of her advanced age, Mountain Grove has maintained an almost exclusive "100" Health Department rating for more than 20 years!
