Le logement est bien placé pour accéder facilement à Cork mais aussi aux environs. Les explications de John pour trouver le logement étaient parfaites.
This was a last minute booking and John was very accommodating. The house was clean and had everything we needed. Location was good and easy to reach. Rooms were comfortable and the washer was a life saver. Would recommend to anyone wanting a roomy comfortable stay.
There's not a bad word we can say about this place. The place is simply amazing, in the middle of the forest in a very quiet residential area. Not too far from Cork, it's only a 10-minute bus ride.
Both of the hosts are extremely nice, friendly and helpful. We would stay there again!
We had stayed with John earlier in our trip, so the fact that we went back for another 4 nights says it all...John and his wife are very pleasant, warm and welcoming. You have everything you need here, and are about a 15 minute drive from the city centre. So, great location, great people--what more can you ask for?
We had a very nice stay at Johns place. The house was clean and private with all necessary equipment and an easy bus ride from town with buses going every half hour.
The hosts where helpful and very friendly.
John was a very welcoming host and his dog Moby was very friendly.
The place is very private and has a cottage feel to it, which is charming. It was clean and a quick 10 minute drive from the Cork city center.
This is a small converted garage, with a kitchen and living area downstairs, with a utility room in between, the bathroom is also downstairs. Upstairs there are two bedrooms, one with a double bed, the other with two single beds.
I travelled to Cork for a weekend with my wife and year-old son, we came from Dublin, and when we had stopped off half way on our journey I received a text from the host inquiring as to our arrival time, which was just as well as I had forgotten to text them myself!
When we arrived we were met by John's wife, who was friendly and welcoming, then along popped Moby the dog - my son was delighted to see him. We were shown around the property, and just some of the necessaries were pointed out, then we were left to settle in. Later in the evening John himself popped in to take the electric meter reading, and gave us a few pointers about the local area and things to do.
The kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, cutlery, a microwave and a cooker, however space is fairly tight, you won't be cooking a slap up meal here, but it's ok for cooking small breakfasts or quick pasta dinners etc. It seemed as if the cooker had not been used before, so clean it was. Plenty of cups, plates and other things you need, and also teabags, coffee, and condiments like ketchup and salt & vinegar were in the cupboard.
The living area was sparse, with a small 2-person sofa, some armchairs and tables - a small TV is provided with basic channels, however it does have both a HDMI port and a USB port, so if you are planning on staying in, do bring a movie to watch.
There was a stale, musty smell coming from the area between the kitchen and the living area were the washing machine and bins are located, I lit the lavendar candle which was in the bathroom and put in this area to mask the smell.
Upstairs, the bedrooms were comfortable, warm and had enough space to store a good amount of clothes for anyone looking to stay for an extended period, extra bed clothes are provided, and there are heaters throughout the property which heat up quickly.
Location wise, this is perfect for access to Cork City, Cobh and Fota - and Glanmire Village and Shopping Centre are a short car journey away (or even a short brisk walk) where you can get anything you might need.
I don't think the place was professionally cleaned before we arrived, some of the mats and rugs around the place were dusty, and everything in the living area and bedrooms, while comfortable, had a dated old feel to them.
I'd recommend this place for a short stay for someone looking to get out and about around East and South Cork, but any longer and creature comforts might be lacking.
