"Hive in the Sky" is a Quonset hut rental located in Beehive Basin just a couple miles from the heart of Big Sky Resort. Sitting at 8,100 feet it serves as a great basecamp for backcountry skiing and snowboarding in the winter and hiking and biking in the summer. Sleeps 4 adults so bring your squad and plan your route with year round vehicle access (4x4 in the winter required) the hut experience can be had with out having to haul all your food and gear with you on your back!

The space
Hive in the Sky is a Quonset hut with electricity and a wood stove for heat. Cooking is done on a 3 burner propane stove. Basic cooking supplies are included. The Hut has no running water but I do keep a 12 gallon insulated water container filled up for cooking, dishwashing and general cleanup. The beds are comfortable and pillows are provided but a sleeping bag is recommended. (sleeping bags are available on request)There is a clean port-a-potty for restroom use. There is cell phone reception at the hut.

Neighborhood highlights

Big Sky is a pretty special place and skiing at the resort is second to none and so is the backcountry in Beehive Basin. My property borders public space and I share a boundary with Beehive Basin trailhead. National forest is just a few minutes up the trail or skin track. Depending on your fitness level you can be standing on the ridge ready to ski some pow in about 30 minutes!
