Epalle is a small hamlet in the gorgeous Bourbonnaise Mountains in the Auvergne. The house lies free from other structures at the edge of forests and their endless hiking trails.
Relaxing in and around the house is easy, there are many nice spots to sit and relax the nature.
Indoors you'll find a cozy living area with open kitchen and a woodburner for heat. Upstairs two seperate bedrooms. Bedroom 1 has a large two person bed, and bedroom 2 has two one person beds.
The space
The house is built in a characteristic style for this region. The house is simple but provides everything for a nice and relaxed vacation. The outdoors make this place special, with many options for hiking/mountainbiking or just relaxing in the large garden behind the house.
At night this place becomes even more quiet and you'll here the rustling sounds of hedgehogs, foxes, racoon and more. On a clear night you'll be able to see the milky way quite clearly.
Guest access
The entire house is at you disposal, except a few cabinets and a private room in the garage.

Location
Châtel-Montagne, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France
Montagne Bourbonnaise lies in the central massif mountain range. It's highest peak lies at approx. 1200m. Epalle is at 850m of altitude and offers a nice range of options for hiking and mountain biking routes.
In the area are other small villages and communes, st Nicolas des Biefs is the closest one with a depot for bread and a small convenience store. There is also a restaurant.
At 8km you'll find Chatel-Montagne with her impressive 11th century roman church a restaurants, bakery etc. A grocery store can be found in Le Mayet de Montagne at 16km. This town also offers some restaurants, bakery, butcher and an bookstore/kiosk and a tourist information office.
Epalle is nicely placed in between the cities Roanne and Vichy. Both cities are at 40-45 minutes by car. Vichy is a historical place with hot water sources and many beautiful buildings and parks. In the summer there are often (music) festivals.
Roanne is a bit more contemporary but has a history of textile trading. There are some references around this city like a market where people still trade textile.
Clermont Ferrand is 1,5hrs away and is also worth visiting if you don't mind the drive.
