A rainforest retreat with pranic healers, yoga space, and dance instructors available.
Enjoy a quiet and tranquil stay in the mountains above Dominical. Steps away from waterfalls, this is a wonderful spot to find relaxation and serenity.
Made from bamboo & madera, our retreat center has windows wall to wall in every room. Enjoy the sounds of nature within just a short 10 minute drive to Dominical for the country's best surfing.
The country's best waterfall is also just 2 miles away!
A private waterfall may also be seen and the house itself is great for bird watching.

Interaction with Guests
We teach yoga & design during the day in the casa and our digital designers enjoy interacting with our guests. With over 10 acres of property, there is plenty of room for you to find a private spot, or feel free to come to the common area and interact with others.
A small village 300m above sea level, the temperature is comfortable without the need for air conditioning or heating.
The village has less than 200 people in it with a small grocery store close by.
A bus comes every hour and can take you to the big city or to the beach for less than 50 cents.
Instructions will be given once booked on how to get here from the airport. We have private shuttle service if desired for $200 straight from the SJO airport, which is 3 hours away.
We are extremely healthy & quiet with calm music playing everyday. We ask that guests come to clear their mind and contribute to the tranquil environment.
Matt was incredibly helpful!he met us down the road at the closest super market. And escorted us to the property. He sent us maps of the property where we were able to explore and find a stream located on the property. The scenery is absolutely stunning! He also let us know that if we needed any groceries he could have them delivered. He also gave us tourist information. The other live in guests at the house were very kind and welcoming, and even shared some home made food and chocolates. The room was very spacious, although it wasn't as clean as I would have liked. I am not sure if the sheets were cleaned before we arrived. The doors to the house are typically left open, and bugs did get in to our room because of this. We didn't have 4x4 and needed to park at the top of the driveway and make the trek down to the house. Definitely recommend getting a 4x4 car while on Costa Rica, especially in the rainy season.
Matt is a very nice person. His home is nice as well. Unfortunately, no one had been cleaning it for awhile when we got there, so the floors and bathrooms were dirty. Having the fresh fruit & vegetables in the kitchen results in lots of fruit flies.
Due to, I think, lack of planning, the breakfasts were less than inspiring. One day we were served mashed potatoes & steamed carrots, as there was nothing else for the cook to prepare. Every other day we got hard scrambled eggs. There was no tea, juice, bread, etc. throughout our stay. Just eggs and water.
There's no furniture in the living area, save the bar stools in the kitchen. The table on the back porch shown in the photo wasn't there. And the cushions on the couch shown were filthy.
Due to the openness, you can hear what everyone is saying/doing in the entire house. So don't go expecting to be able to escape to your room for some quiet time.
I'd call this more of a hostel than a B&B.
We have a maid/chef that comes daily.
Our breakfasts are organic, local, and very inspiring to those who lead healthy lifestyles. We make banana shakes, cacao, nut butter smoothies available to everyone. This is usually followed by an egg scramble delivered fresh from our next door neighbors with herbs and spices straight from our garden. Those who live a pescatarian life who appreciate the menu put together by a nutritionist are very delighted in our cuisine.
Those who seek steak & eggs with some gravy will be very disappointed in our yoga house.
We have a very very large open area we use for yoga, dance, and other forms of movement with throw cushions, bosu balls, and yoga mats provided. We provide many laptop hookups and great wifi outside of this area if people want to lounge around with our pictured design deck that brings inspiration.
Again, I have found those not seeking a lifestyle filled with movement, dance, and yoga feel out of place with our retreat center.
In this price range, we have a lot of late twenties travelers who desire a better experience than the hostels, yet are on a budget & who enjoy adventure, seek healthy lifestyles, and encourage one another on their quest for enlightenment.
I recommend to those who desire a more secluded experience away from movement and the yoga spirit to seek out hotels in the area. Pura Vida!
J'ai vécue dans un havre de paix et de sérénité. Matt est très accueillant. La maison est zen entourée de verdure, très bien pour un repos bien mérité. Vous voulez vous ressourcer ? Il faut venir à Platanillo !!!
