About This Listing
This little apartment is the perfect base for a relaxing holiday or fun business trip in Barcelona… Right in the heart of the old town, is just two minutes from all the boutiques and bars of Born and only a short walk from the sea.
On the fifth storey of a narrow gothic building in Sant Pere it’s the ideal size for a couple but can technically sleep three people in the case of happy families and good friends. An open-plan living space and kitchen at the front overlooks friendly neighbours and a lively street below, while at the back the bedroom and bathroom are quiet and private. Simple, well-equipped, light, bright, shiny and clean, you’ll have everything you need for a very comfortable stay in this amazing city. The apartment has no elevator and there’s a lot of stairs. But it means you can eat more tapas because you’re getting the excercise.
Sant Pere is the North East corner of the very fashionable and beautiful Ciutudat Vella. Mostly undiscovered by tourists so far, it is still lived in by born and bred Sant Pere locals. From the 12th century onwards the old town was the centre of trade and the favourite residential area of the merchant elite (the merchants’ grand gothic mansions can be seen along Carrer Montcada). The flat is superbly situated right in its centre, two minutes walk through the constantly changing and very narrow streets will take you in one direction to La Parc Ciutadella, to La Palau de la Musica in another, or the new Mercat de Santa Catarina in a third. Surrounded by perfect little cafes, bars and restaurants there’s plenty to do, see or eat whichever way you go.
Sheltered from the hen-party mania that many areas are subjected to in the centre of Barcelona, Sant Pere is like Shoreditch to the Born’s Covent Garden, complete with genuine Banksy grafitti, authentic Spanish mullets, up and coming fashion stores, secret bars and still quite reasonable prices. Born, just to the south, is home to many good boutiques and even more bars and restaurants, while further south still you hit Barceloneta, and then the beaches. Head west from the flat and you hit Barri Gotic, the main ‘old town’ and partyland.
If you can’t decide, just turn left out of the front door and head to the end of the street where you’ll find Placa Sant Pere. The prettiest square for miles where you can eat a delicious menu del dia in Candela while you chose how best to spend the rest of your lovely sunny day.
If you are flying the best airport is Barcelona. Then you can get a shuttle bus which costs less than 5euros to Plaça Cataluyña and the flat is a 10minute walk from there. You can get a taxi from the airport for about 20euros too. One thing to bear in mind is that the street is very narrow so it’s best to get the taxi driver to drop you off / pick-up from either Plaça de Sant Pere or Palau de la Musica on Via Leitana.
If you fly Ryanair to Girona, the bus will take an hour and twenty minutes, and it costs about 20 euros for a return. The Bus Station in Barcelona is a five minute walk from the flat.

Noemi ,who managed the apartement for henrietta was very kind ,helpful and a really cool person .She took care of the check in and provided us with infos where to go, it was a real pleasure meeting her ;)The apartement is close to the city and there are several metrostations 5 min away .I was living in the apartement for month and i loved to stay there ,and the leg workout was ok aswell ;) Barcelona is one if not the coolest place on earth ,you wont regret booking the apartement for your stay .
Noemi, who managed the apartment for Henrietta, was a fantastic host. Very flexible with meeting me and regularly checked in with me and sent me hints on great things to do in Barcelona. The apartment was perfect for one person, or a couple. Light and bright and a very central part of the city. I could walk to everything, with metro and bus only a few minutes walk away. It is on the 5th floor, so the legs got a regular workout too!
We heard about this flat from a Canadian friend who lived there before us. After having lived in the Eixample area for one month, we stayed just as long in this apartment, and what struck us the most was how the apartment was very central (five minutes' walk to the Cathedral, Plaça Catalunya, Arc de Trionf) and still very quiet. The street is super cozy with several small shops (try out the tapas restaurant "El Bitxo" next to the Palau de la Musica), and if you're here during the right season, the beach is only 20 minutes away by foot as well. The apartment is perfect for a couple (+ maybe a friend or child) and has all the furniture, kitchen equipment etc. for a long stay in Barcelona. We wouldn't think twice about recommending it!
We were really pleased with the flat and Lucie was a very nice host! I recommend this place!
We had a fantastic stay at Lucie's apartment. It was spacious, trendy and clean and had all we needed for our 6 days stay.
The street is charming and in walking distance to everything in the city center. You have all you need just around the corner.
Lucie and her boyfriend were very friendly and met us on time.
I would definitely stay here again!
I can highly recommend Lucie as a host she is helpful and nice, easy to get in touch with. The apartment is ideally situated in the center of Barcelona older parts. Given the response from Lucie and the apartment's location, I can warmly recommend this for future guests.
About the Host, Henrietta
Hello. I'm a writer and curator living in London and Barcelona, happily trotting my way around the globe whenever I get the chance.
I get excited about culture, creativity and avocado on toast. In fact pretty much anything on toast. I'm a city girl and believe the best cities are the big ones built by the sea.
My apartment here and this account is looked after by Noemi, who is wonderful and lives in Barcelona, so she can make sure you have everything you need.
