The space

There are 3 things people love about our place in Tramore - It's clean, it's comfortable and it's close to restaurants, bars and the beach.
The spacious bedroom has a double bed, walk-in wardrobe and an en suite bathroom. There is a single bedroom available if there are 3 people, I can offer this at a reduced price.

All bedding, sheets and towels are provided. Tea and coffee is available in your room. There is wireless internet throughout, a washing machine, and TV.

Continental breakfast (cereals, toast, croissants, yogurt, jams, tea, coffee, orange juice etc.) are included in the price.

Guest access

You can use the kitchen to prepare drinks and snacks.

Interaction with guests

My husband Alec or myself, or both will be here to greet you and offer you tea or coffee when you arrive. Alec and I are happy to spend time with guests and likewise very happy to leave our guests to entertain themselves.

The neighborhood

Tramore is a lovely little picturesque town in Co. Waterford. Our home is in the centre of the town with supermarkets, chemists, banks, dentists, doctors, etc. We are near the beach and all the activities.

TBay Surf and Eco Centre gives lessons and hires surf boards. Tramore has the best beach in Ireland for surfing.

There are many very nice restaurants and pubs, and is lively in the summer with music and festivals.

The scenic landscape of Tramore, represented by the strand and cliffs, attracts many walkers. The Doneraile Walk, Cliff Road Walk, as well as the 5 km strand walk to the sand dunes. There are also guided walks.

15 minutes drive is Waterford Greenway (previously the old Dungavan to Waterford railway line), newly opened this year for walkers and cyclists - Lovely scenery, views of the Commeragh mountains, seaviews, fields, farms, bridges, viaducts, old railway stations. It feels like you are walking in fields (even though you are on the track) as the views are so good for miles. There are no gates - so it is a totally uninterrupted cycle and walk. Bike hire available on the Greenway.

Then there is Waterford City to visit. Waterford is the oldest city in Ireland. A walled city of Viking origins. The Viking Triangle area has Reginald's Tower, Bishops Palace, Medieval Museum, historical walking tours and of course, the Waterford Crystal Visitors Centre.

Getting around

If you are arriving into Dublin airport and not hiring a car, there is an airport bus that takes you all the way to Tramore.

We are within minutes of the local bus station, buses go to Waterford City every 30 minutes, with on going connections to the rest of Ireland.

Other things to note

We have a business hiring Mobility Scooters. If any of our guests would like to avail of one during their stay at our home to get around Tramore, we can offer rental at a reduced price.

Alicia and Alec were able to accommodate our early arrival to their lovely home. The clean and quiet room had lots of windows and light with a private bathroom. Breakfast and coffee each morning was great, as was the conversations we had with our hosts. Tea outside on the porch with the scenic view of the Tramore beach in the background was lovely. Nearby we walked to pubs and had some amazing meals at The Vee (get the seafood chowder!) We loved our stay and could not have asked more from our hosts who felt like family by the end. Hope to return and would stay nowhere else!

Alicia was a lovely host. She welcomed us with tea and with helpful bits of information about Tramore. Her home was lovely, clean and quiet. She provided a substantial breakfast and even printed out some travel information for us. She was a pleasure to deal with throughout.
