The Space

Dear traveller,

I'd like to give you a warm welcome to my home. I'm travelling a lot on work, so it is free for you to enjoy most of the year.

My home is located right in the middle of Prenzlauer Berg, the vibrant heart of Berlin, 2 minutes from the nearest underground stop (U2, Eberswalder Strasse). Countless restaurants, bars and clubs are right on my street, hundreds in the neighbourhood.

Despite of all the fuss on the street, the flat is absolutely quiet, being located not directly on the main street, but in the building behind it - it has the peace and quiet of a mountain cabin, with the bustling street just 50 meters out the yard.

The famous Kulturbrauerei around the corner - a historical brewery transformed into an arts venue. Mauerpark, Berlin's melting pot of people and cultures, at a 10 minute-walk. The famous Alexanderplatz, 3 stops on the U2 metro line. Most of the people around speak fluent English. Art galleries, creative shops, street style fashion designers, piano shops, organic supermarkets, music stores, they're all here.

The flat is a fancy maisonette spread on two levels in a lovely historical building. I had it decorated by an interiour designer with a personal and warm touch.

The bedroom and bathroom are on second floor, the living room and kitchen on first floor, with a spiral staircase connecting them. Wood flooring in both rooms give it a nice, cozy, warm feeling.

The kitchen is fully equipped with all one needs - I do live here. In the living room there's a dinner table for 4 persons, a cozy sitting corner with a couch and two armchairs, which turns into a home cinema (projector and HiFi). Feel free to use the upright Yamaha piano in the living room as well.

The bedroom upstairs had a queen-size double bed complemented by a fairly sized library mainly in English and German and an antique desk as a workplace.

Art works from all over the world decorate the place, from wooden works from Brasil to paintings and carvings from India and Romania and ceramic works from Bulgaria.

To the more pragmatic stuff, you'll find in the flat high speed WiFi, a washing machine, a hair dryer and of course bedding, blankets, pillows, and towels.

Should you have any questions - please do contact me over Airbnb. I'd be more than happy to have you as my guest.

Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • This was a beautiful flat in an amazing part of Berlin, with nice cafes and bars right on your doorstep, but like Mihai says, the flat is very quiet and peaceful. We had a great time staying here and Mihai was very helpful with transport tips and accommodated our late check-in and early check-out without a problem.

  • The flat really is perfect, very cosy and clean, a great system
For listening to records and a lovely piano! It is in a great location, close to lots of groovy cafes and bars, and Mihai was so helpful by giving us a lot of information about good local places to check out, including cheap bike rental,
I very highly recommend this flat

  • The location is prime for exploring practically any area of Berlin. A five minute walk gets you to a U2 station that takes you directly to Alexanderplatz in another five minutes or Stadtmitte in twenty minutes. At home, the flat is quite stylish and very accommodating, in a relatively private side street in Prenzlauer berg near restaurants, cafés, bars, and a 24 hour convenience store. The kitchen was all we needed: stove, freezer, fridge, and some foodstuff. We nicknamed the host "Mihai the Cool Guy" for his flexibility and the amenities he left us. The stay was as good as we hoped it would be.

  • Staying in Mihai Streza´s reasonably big appartment was exactly what we were looking for. Pricewise very reasonable, very close to
U-bahn and the flat is in a quiet side-street with perfect possibility for a proper sleep. A lovely green back-yard compensate for not being able to see the sun and as already mentioned it is nice and relaxing.
Mihai was very flexible at our arrival and check-out time. And Mihai is a perfect host. Easy to talk to in English. And very helpful. We will think of visiting again, when we vist Berlin to go Argentinian Tango dancing.

  • My stay at Mihai's flat was very satisfactory. A really really nice flat in a nice, calm neighborhood. I never met Mihai in person (he's a traveler, indeed) but everything worked out smoothly and I've got no complaints whatsoever!

I really enjoyed having a piano in the apartment! :)

Would definitely stay at Mihai's place the next time I'm in Berlin.

  • Very much enjoyed my stay at Mihai's two-storey flat. It is exactly as the pictures describe. If you're looking for a QUIET flat (something that is always a top priority for me), then look no further; the flat gives into a quiet inner courtyard and the neighbours are so quiet that I even wondered if anyone else lived above Mihai's flat!

The wi fi was flawless and allowed me to do my work. The location of the flat was also great; five-minute walk to the U2 station which takes you anywhere.

Didn't get a chance to meet Mihai but the communication beforehand was absolutely flawless. Check-in (via his friend, also named Mihai!) was very easy. Both Mihai's are two of the nicest and friendliest guys you'll ever meet on Air BnB.

THANK YOU, Mihai Number One and Mihai Number Two!

  • We had an absolutely amazing stay at Mihai's apartment - it is the perfect flat in the perfect neighborhood. If you stay there, we recommend dinner at the delicious African restaurant across the street and stop by the awesome bar next door....or really any of the bars along the way. There are super cute coffee shops super cute shopping shops - it was really just perfect.

The apartment itself was just lovely - a really cool two level flat with a spiral staircase in between the floors. I would highly recommend it and hope that I get a chance to stay there again!

Mihai (and his friend Mihai) were very helpful and made sure everything was working and we found the place ok - really a great experience...

  • Mihai's apartment is superbly appointed and situated in the heart of Prenzlauerberg with its overwhelming array of restaurants, bars and amenities. With its courtyard setting, the apartment is extremely quiet and offers all comforts you require to make your stay in Berlin thoroughly enjoyable. Communication with Mihai is easy and efficient. I can wholeheartedly recommend a stay at Mihai's place.

  • Amazing place.
Unfortunately we never got to meet the host, but were greeted by his friend. We unfortunately had some problems at the start of our stay since the linens were not fresh and the WIFI did not work. Thankfully Mihai's friend took great care of us. He put everything in order and even exscused his friend with a nice bottle of red wine.

The rest of our stay was great. We enjoyed cooking, eating and watching movies in Mihai's flat. The location is also great. Conveniently located in trendy Prenzlauer Berg. Highly recommended.

    Response from Mihai:

Great guests, who left the place in perfect condition. Also had great understanding for some apparent problems (my cleaning lady assured me she had been in the flat before their arrival and has taken care of everything, however the guests complained about wanting new linens, wanting to have the bathroom and fridge cleaned again, have a mineral water crate removed from the kitchen, have a salad bowl delivered from the other end of the city and so on).

They have also reported to me a local WiFi problem as a major concern, which I however could not fix remotely, since I was in Korea. At my return home the WiFi was working (as always) perfectly.

High maintenance guests, who seem to think Airbnb should work like a 5-star hotel, (email hidden) concierge fulfilling all wishes. My friend actually did that, in all honesty I would have pulled the brakes.

  • Mihai is the perfect host. My father-in-law thoroughly enjoyed his stay in this beautiful apartment. Located in a bustling yet leafy area of Berlin, it is an ideal base to explore this amazing city. Thank you again!

In 2006 I landed in Berlin for a few months with work and stayed there since. I am business consultant travelling a lot, so my apartment is often free. I love to see that resources are used in a meaningful way, so why not give others the opportunity of enjoying this lovely flat while I'm away? And I recently bought a car so will figure out a way to let my guests use that as well, should they need it.
