About This Listing
We love having guests! We would love to host you during your travels!! Come and join
This is the master bedroom in a three-bedroom flat in Brooklyn in the newly remodeled pre-war Edward Apartments. The classy remodel kept exposed brick walls and enormous south-facing windows. Kitchen is brand new and well-appointed by a foodie. The roof deck a few floors up (almost like an additional living room) is stunning. We have yet to find a more perfect spot for morning yoga or an evening smoke or beer. And it has a fireplace.
You get a Queen and plenty of dresser and closet space to make yourself at home. We have a hair drier, towels and toiletries for you.
You are located half a block from Bedford avenue, the center of the action in the coolest neighborhood in town. Nearby you'll find (among many more) The Sketchbook Project, Mast Brothers' Chocolate, Traif, Blue Bottle Coffee, Spuytin' Duyvil, Saltie, Pies 'n Thighs, Cafe Moto, Marlow & Sons, Marlow & Duaghters, EAT, the Brooklyn Kitchen, Fette Sau, Caracas, Barcades...
You're a five minute walk from the L train and one subway stop from Manhattan. You're also a nice walk to the beautiful East River Ferry, which puts you a few stops from Brooklyn Bridge Park, Downtown and Midtown.
We look forward to hosting you!
I didn't get to meet Jason but I did get to meet Melanie. She is so sweet and was as helpful as she could be with all our questions. I loved the fact that there is a theme to the apartment and things were laid out in our room almost like a hotel. The bed and comforter were so comfortable.
As far as the apartment goes, the main living space was messy but that is because people are moving in and out of the place. The one thing that I really did not like was the fact that the place is falling apart. The handle on our room door not only didn't have a lock from the outside but it also didn't lock from the inside as I was told it would. Also the handles on both the inside and outside if the door falls off if you tug on it slightly. The shower knob to change from faucet to shower is also broken, same with the kitchen sink handle.
With this being my first time using Air BnB, it was a fair experience but I wish I had thought to ask more questions before booking.
All in all, the people are really nice and helpful but the place needs to be fixed up a bit. At least the doorknobs need to be fixed so people can stay more comfortably and not worry about their personal belongings.
Melanie and Jason, thank you for being great hosts despite the small apartment glitches!
The whole staying was amazing from day one! Melanie is the best host and would recomend this place for everyone. Thanks for Making our trip even better!
While my booking was handled by Jason, I did not meet him; I was greeted and living alongside a new roommate Melanie. Melanie was friendly and sweet. She was flexible about my arrival time, welcomed me in person and went over all the essentials (wifi, roof access, etc.) and she was really laid back about me inviting a friend over to have a glass of wine on the roof deck. Melanie was genuinely warm and easy-going; she has the perfect demeanor to host an air bnb space.
Overall, the apartment was impressively clean. The bedroom and bathroom were both spotless (mirrors clean, floors swept and mopped, shelves dusted.) The bedroom was sunny and large (for NYC) with a comfortable bed and plenty of shelves and cubbies for unpacking a suitcase. The living room was a little cluttered with a giant fish tank and related fish tank items, but it was what you would expect from a small apartment that is mostly rented out. Lastly, the view from the roof deck was breathtaking and just as photographed.
Overall, I had a great experience. The room was a very good deal and I would recommend others to stay with Jason and Melanie.
We stayed for 7 nights and loved the place. Williamsburg is a great location and the apartment was close to good bars/cafes and the metro to manhattan.
Melanie was our host and was really friendly and helpful.
Room was large and sunny and the bed was great. Plenty of storage shelves too.
Thanks for a great stay Jason and Melanie :)

About the Host, Jason
I am originally for California and my flatmate Stephan is from Boulder, Colorado. We are very laid back people who love to meet and greet interesting guests as they travel and explore New York City. We have many different hobbies between us and would like to hear what crazy hobbies you might have! We grow vegetables on the roof deck, collect spices from around the world, pickle just about anything, brew our own beer, play the ukulele, and love to cook. We look forward to hosting you and having some fun!
