We loved playa del carmen and staying in this place was great. The room were clean and had everything we needed! I recommend staying here because it is away from all the hustle and bustle of 5th ave but still close enough to enjoy it!
Our host was very nice and always easy to contact.
Me and my friend rented this studio for about a week. We stayed there for one night then move on to another airbnb in Playa Car. The reason was that at night the sound level of the street was too annoying. There were only one electric plug with two input and let's say that we had more than 5 devices that require charging each. Also, at night we wanted to go out to enjoy our first night there and we figured out that we we're stuck there because the key was stuck in the keyhole. We finally got out the apartment 8 hours after multiples chat with the host. Let me tell you it was horrible to make those communication as we had no cellphone and the internet was really slow. The worst thing was probably that I'm claustrophobic... Overall the beds we're really comfy and seriously for the price you get a place to go but don't expect calm and peace. Despite of that, the host was really understanding and did whatsoever she was able to do remotely because her mother died.
I enjoyed very much my 3-week stay in this studio, which is relatively close to downtown and local stores / restaurants. Everything was modest, but clean and well organized. The beds were wide and comfortable, bed sheets were brand new, and the fridge was clean when I arrived. A small kitchen is helpful if you want to prepare your own meals, but (IMO) nearby restaurants with authentic Mexican food are far better choice. I stayed in Playa during December/January, so the ceiling fan was sufficient to make a nice breeze. However, in spring / summer, I assume that air conditioner would be needed because this studio is on the top floor. If your needs are not excessive and you want to stay on the budget, you will have great time in this reasonably priced #5 apartment. Overall, excellent experience!
